I too live in a house where we have both the Dualit toaster and kettle. On the whole we are very pleased about our kettle and toaster, however, if considering buying the kettleappliance be prepared to look after it carefully. Our kettle began to function incorrectly after about 4-6 months use, the fault the kettle had sustained meant that the kettle could still boil water very effciently, but failed to cancel the heating process when it had finished boiling. This meant that you had to go over to the kettle and manually switch it off, no great harship, but a bit annoying. We belive that the damage caused to the thermostat [the part of the kettle that prevents it boiling dry through prolonged boiling] was partly due partly to a couple of knocks the kettle may have recieved. However for many years we have been replacing kettles and purchasing new ones due to the old one ceasing to function. [Thing just arent built how they used too!] This kettel is a good buy, it is stilish and works well, but be prepared to use a gentle touch as it is more expensive to replace than most kettles.
