Advantages Easy to use

Disadvantages Noisy

This seemed like a fantastic idea because as a mum with 2 small children, I am forever boiling the kettle - getting distracted & having to reboil it again to make my cups of tea ( of which there are many)
Tefal claim that this machine will save 65% of your energy, compared to using a standard kettle as it only heats the water needed for your cuppa. This makes it much more environmentally friendly than your regular kettle, plus it can also dispense cold filtered water, saving the need for bottled water if that's your thing. Actually the 'cold' water is at room temperature as it is not a chiller.

It is extremely easy to fill and use and takes up less space on my worktop than the seperate filter jug & kettle that I currently use. however, that's about as positive as I can be.
When you read the booklet inside the box, you discover that it does not dispense boiling water & therefore is not suitable for things like making up baby formula, or some packet soups or noodle dishes that require BOILING water. I have contacted Tefal who advise that the water is dispensed at 80-82 degrees.

To me this makes the product a little redundant as whilst I have been given to believe coffee is better when made with water at less than boiling; tea certainly is not. The 3 cups I have made so far have all tasted weaker and are cold before I have finished them.
I would therefore be reluctant to throw my kettle away to rely on tthe Tefal Quickcup entirely.

The other feature of this machine that is not apparent form the beautifully filmed commercials is that it makes a dreadful noise. I was concerned that this was a manufacturing fault, however I have checked with them and the noise it makes is apparently usual.
I would imagine this product is a boon to those whose preferred beverage is black coffee, however tea lovers are in for a dissapointment.

I am about to pack mine back into its box and return it to the shop. Maybe if they can get one to dispense boiling or near boiling water I would reconsider.
