This is a very pretty looking kitchenappliance and once you get over the initial shock of the cost, I'm sure you will be delighted with it.
I think you really do "get what you pay for" as they say, the large outlay really seems to be to cover the 3 year guarantee on parts and the 12 year guarantee on the motor. Now that's what I call Customer Service!
This food processor is a really heavy duty piece of kitchen equipment and means to tackle even the toughest blending/mixing/kneading jobs. It is very heavy and can only just be lifted off the worktop, using suckered feet to keep it in place when running.
It has a great range of clever features including 3 bowls, each with their own blades. Sizes are 3.25L, 2.6L and 1 L (air volume), giving great flexibilty for every task.
The processor comes with a lidded box of tools, including the three blades already mentioned, a dough blade, a shredding disc, chipping, disc, grating and shaving disc, adjustable slicing disc, an e-disc for whisking and a small spatula. The people at Dualit really have thought of everything!
The whole item is very simple to use and produces great results every time. The unit is of a simple, user friendly design with one large dial which can switch between on (one speed) and pulse. The main body is chrome looking plastic (not too tacky), complete with black underside and black suckered feet. The large clear plastic bowl is also trimmed with black.
It comes complete with an instruction booklet that's easy to follow and an inspiring cookbook.
The only reservation I have is about the mixing bowls. They can go in the top rack of the dishwasher but only at 40 degrees or lower and must be removed prior to the drying cycle. Therefore, I think it's easier to wash them up by hand as soon as you've finished with them.
All in all though I'm very pleased and it has given me the inspiration to try out new ideas and recipes.
