Advantages: Can' think of any Disadvantages: After 16 months (4 months out of guarantee) it's useless
...I treated myself to a Dualit Jug Kettle after years of buying cheap high street brands and was bitterly disappointed.
Yes, I live in a hard water area and, yes, I do descale monthly as recommended by Dualit, but the plastic side panels have cracked and water is leaking out onto the electrics under the kettle, making it idangerous to use.
The anti-scale filter needs replacing as the mesh has come away from the plastic surround, but Dualit are charging £1.00 for this, which can only be ordered from their Customer Services Department, and they want £3.60 + VAT for postage & packaging!
After 16 months of very little use, I would NOT recommend anybody to buy this kettle, which is twice the price of a comparable stainless steel from the high street stores....

Advantages: Smart, efficient, perfect gring every time Disadvantages: Not cheap, noisy
...We bought a Dualit grinder after seeing some indifferent reviews of the Gaggia one. We were looking for a reasonably priced but high quality grinder.
There seems to be three classes of electric grinder. The under £20 cheap ones (usually blade grinders), the £30-100 burr grinders, and the £100-400 commercial type grinders. The Dualit seems to be the best of the mid-range models We have been delighted with it.
The Gaggia Classic expresso machine will produce perfect crema every time if you grind your beans with the Dualit (on the finest setting).
We have also used it to regrind already ground coffee and this also works perfectly.
Like all Dualit products it is built to last. It also looks the part. In keeping with the Dualit style, it is not the most modern design, but it will still look smart in 20 years
An excellent appliance...

Advantages: Attractive, solid, reliable and should last a lifetime Disadvantages: The price
...I won my Dualit, 4 slice, silver toaster in a competition - there is no way I would have spent the £179 pounds that it cost (from John Lewis) - that said it a fine looking object, it works like a dream, it is built to industrial strength standards so should last a lifetime. If you have plenty of cash, or generous relatives and want the king of toasters as a wedding present, then i would recommend it. That said - toast is toast - and i dont think its going to be any advantage to you to shell out loads of cash for this if you are on any kind of budget - Dualit is Kitchin Gucci - a privalige to own, but ultimatly an extravagance you could live without....

It was my birthday a week ago. I'd already chosen a pair of swanky sunglases that my husband bought me. He went to town with the kids and chose this machine as a present from them.
Not quite the ideal birthday present you may think. You'd be wrong.... more
