I received this kettle as a wedding present back in 2007, along with a matching toaster, and it has never given me any problem whatsoever. It cost £40 brand new, and I chose this kettle specifically to match my kitchen.
The kettle I have is shiny chrome coloured with a cream coloured, plastic base, handle and top. This is ideal as it means the kettle cam be moved, lifted and the top removed whilst still containing boiling water, without burning your hands. I must admit to always filling the kettle via the spout anyway, but it’s a nice addition! With it being shiny, chrome look it does need to be wiped often to keep it looking clean.
There is a water level indicator on the side of the kettle to avoid over-filling and just putting into it as much water as you require. This saves on water, speeds up the boiling times and therefore saves electricity in the long run. The kettle can be kept plugged in and just flicked on with the switch on the kettle when boiling water is required. A red light glows when the kettle is on so it’s easy to double check that you have flicked it on.
It doesn’t take long to boil, normally just a few minutes for about half a kettle full, and it has the advantage of being reasonably quiet too – you can easily have a conversation in the kitchen whilst the kettle is on!
In summary, this is a smart looking kettle, and does everything well that you would expect a kettle to do!
