Fifa 2003 Principles
One of the most promising things I heard from EA was the new approach that has been taken to the development of Fifa 2003. The team realised the communities views on the gameplay of the latest releases of Fifa and knew they had to make Fifa 2003 a major evolution.
To achieve this new people were introduced at the management and senior development levels and the best people from around EA Sports development teams (including NBA, NHL, etc...) were drafted in to swell the team from 60 to 112.
In 4.5 months the team has created a totally new soccer simulation experience with focus on removing the ball from the players foot and getting the AI to think like a footballer. Some of the biggest changes can be seen in the areas of passing, dribbling, shooting and the AI.
