"Highly recommended"

Dundee is a student city, with there being both Dundee University and Abertay University, Life here is geared towards young people and student deals. The renowned art school is on Uni campus and this is very near to the town centre of Dundee. There are two parts to the art school the Mathew and Crawford building, which are linked by two bridges. The buildings are architecturally unique and have to be seen. The status of the art school is definitely on the rise due to the Interior and Environmental design, Fine art and TV & Imaging departments all gaining recognition in respective fields.
Edinburgh Art school has very few links with Heriot Watt Uni (which is on the city outskirts) and therefore offers few experiences of University facilities and life.
Glasgow Art school has the name for itself but does not have the modern facilities and outlook of Dundee Art school.
Dundee City is very much up-and-coming has all the facilities and entertainment expected from a major Scottish City. The art school is definitely a strong point in the image of the University, with exhibitions being held regularly in the University and the city centre. Most chosen courses include Medicine (excellent links with Ninewells hospital), Dentistry, Psychology, English and art-related courses.
The only disadvantage yet, is the variety of clubs and pubs and social events. Glasgow and Edinburgh have non-stop cultural and street events, with an exciting calander of things to do. Dundee council and Universities should aim to have this sort of atmosphere in the future.
The people you will meet in Dundee are friendly (traditionally Scottish) and although this is one of the main Scottish cities, there is a good balance of city life and peace and quiet. The city centre is modernised and as you move away from the centre, particularly along the Perth Road, the original Cafe's and boutique's begin to appear. All the usual things to do in a City with the added feature of the waterfront.
Oh, and did i mention the gorgeous waterfront?

I'm applying for direct entry to the Graphic Design course for 2005 and feared the size of Dundee as a city would affect the overall experience. This is very reassuring and thorough though, thanks!!
