Hild and Bede college is one of the bigger colleges in Durham, which means that you're bound to find some like-minded people, and don't have to put up with the rowers/rugby crowd. It also means that there are plenty of facilities like tennis courts. The college is set in quite large grounds, which makes it one of the prettiest colleges, and is a more relaxing place to spend your time cramming for exams. One of the biggest problems with the college is that it is separate from all the others, and there aren't too many shops nearby. This does make the college a bit insular, and you have to be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk to get anywhere else. The food is dire, but then food in any university is not renowned for being great.
