Washing is one of those jobs around the home that I just seem to loathe, I'm not really sure what it is exactly. Maybe it's because of the effort involved in gathering it all up, cramming it in the machine, pulling it out and putting it on the airing horse. Then I have to fold it in to a basket, iron some and pack it all away!! It's for this reason that I try to do as little washing as possible but with two adults who both wear two outfits a day it's fair to say that my washing machine is on most days. I had seen colour catcher advertised for quite a while and seen it in supermarkets but just never thought to try it, however, it was recommended to me by my sister who has a household of six and so I decided to give them a go. These can be purchased from most good supermarkets and I purchased mine from Tesco with 24 sheets setting me back £2.90 at standard price which seemed very reasonable and works out at just over 12p per sheet.
These sheets are provided in a cardboard box with a perforated back. It's easy enough to open up and it does hold the sheets in place in my sink cupboard. The usual information is displayed on the box and a simple read will tell you how these work.I use these sheets by placing them in the washing machine and then putting the clothes in on top of them. I use a washing liquid in the drum and a fabric softener in the washing machine drawer, I mix and match products quite a lot based on what is on offer so these have been used with lots of different liquids with the same results. I normally use a mixture of wash cycles, anything from 60 degrees to a 30 minute quick wash.
I must say that I am very pleased with the quality of this product. it's very simple to use and enables me to wash my husbands white shirts with anything else without worrying about colours running and items looking dull or dirty coloured after they've been washed. I must say that I have never used this on the very first time I've washed something dark like denim jeans or new towels so I can't say how well this works with those. I use these a couple of times a week when I have white items to wash but don't have a full load and this is a fantastic way to save money and cut down the amount of time I have to go without wearing my favourite items.I must say that the proof definitely is in the viewing of this sheet after it's been used. You really can see where colours have run and been soaked up by the sheet. I'm very impressed with how well these work and I must say that my clothes don't look like they are dulling and becoming faded as fast as they were before. I think that the cost of these is far lower than the cost of all the extra small loads that I was doing before.
Summary; The proof is in the sheet - these work!
