I was always a bit sceptical about the claims about Dyson's, until I used my mum's. I'm now a convert.
I bought this one as it fitted under the stairs. Although its bright yellow colour almost made me think twice. Powerful and with no bags to change it make the job a lot easier. The fact I had to empty the dust container three times the first time I used it to hover my house (now I only need to empty it once every other time) shows what my old vacuum had left behind. The small tools are also good but they are best kept in a draw rather than attached to the vacuum so they don't get in the way.
The dust container is quite small so anyone with a large house or with pets that shed hair everywhere this may not be the best Dyson to go for. It is quite noisy but I can only assume that this is due to the power of the motor. There is an auto flex winder on it but this is standard on many vacuums.
As with all Dyson's it comes with a guarantee which you have to send off to them but this one, at the time I bought it came with a 7 year guarantee. No company would give a guarantee of this length unless the product was good.
Only flaw is that the filter needs cleaning every few months but it's better than having to replace them like with other cleaners on the market. Although the advise is to run it under the tap whilst squeezing it it out a few times to clear out the dust. This then has to be left to dry before it can be put back into the vacuum. This is why it may be best to buy an extra filter so whilst one is drying you can use the other.
