Advantages: Turbo brush, good for small storage areas Disadvantages: Cable rewind can be sticky
I\'ve had this dyson for 16 months now. I previously had a dc02 cylinder model for about 6-7 years. This is much better - all vacuum cleaners should have a turbo brush - fab fab fab!
I bought it because my previous experience with dyson had been good and I liked this model because it stores nice and neatly and has a good hepa filter and has a turbo brush - I'd never had one/ didn't know anyone who had one, but with myself & my daughter ... ...without having to move it. Same goes for upstairs. Actually, the cable rewind is the only downside I can think of - it sticks sometimes. Dyson do, I believe, have a history of cable rewind problems - so perhaps this is something they could work on in the future ... more
I\'ve had this dyson for 16 months now. I previously had a dc02 cylinder model for about 6-7 years. This is much better - all vacuum cleaners should have a turbo brush - fab fab fab!
I bought it because my previous experience with dyson had been good and I liked this model because it stores nice and neatly and has a good hepa filter and has a turbo brush - I'd never had one/ didn't know anyone who had one, but with myself & my daughter both having below shoulder length hair I needed something which would be capable of sucking it up, rather than me having to rake the carpets every few months!
When I got my dc11 I had vacuumed the house the day before. I had to try it out though (of course!) and couldn't believe how much more dirt it sucked up from the carpets - absolutely loads - which, as we had not long moved into this house and the previous owners had left it somewhat dirty, made me feel like I could actually make some headway into the inground dirt (yuck!)
The turbo brush can easily cope with our hair (and as I had another baby last year it had the post-partum drop out of my hair to cope with) - sure, you have to take the brush apart to remove the hair - but that really is no big deal.
Tools are good. After service was excellent. The dysone dc11 comes with a manufacturers 2 year guarantee as standard. My turbo brush lost suction - I knew it was the turbo, as the other tools still worked fine - a quick five minute call to their helpline and they sent me a brand new one free of charge 3 days later - brilliant service!
The filters are washable - better for the environment than before - and it all wraps up and stores compactly and neatly under my stairs.
Easy to use - good value for money - I paid <£200 last year. Good suction (be very wary in children's rooms if they are liable to leave small toys in the floor!), easy to see when it's full, easy to empty.
Oh, finally, it has a long power cable too. I can plug it in in my hallway and vacuum all the downstairs of my (quite big) house without having to move it. Same goes for upstairs. Actually, the cable rewind is the only downside I can think of - it sticks sometimes. Dyson do, I believe, have a history of cable rewind problems - so perhaps this is something they could work on in the future
Advantages: small, great performance Disadvantages: not found any yet
...for you' feature on the Dyson website which asks several questions about your cleaning needs and lifestyle and then suggests 2-3 models, from this list I choose the Dyson DC11 All Floors.
They weren't wrong - it delivers on all of the main criteria I gave them;
- it is very compact (if I didn't need the cupboard under the kitchen sink to keep all the other cleaning junk in, it would fit in there)
- when packed away the hose clips in all around ... ...telly - yuck!
So now I have lovely clean carpets and floors, the dyson is tucked away neatly under the stairs and there is still plenty of room in there for all my other junk .. what more can I say other than "I LOVE MY NEW DYSON" !!! ...

Advantages: Sucks all the time Disadvantages: None
...I have never had a dyson before so I thought I would try one out, seen as everyone raves on about them. My previous hoover was one of those £25 jobs from Argos but thought this time I'd treat myself.
*Features*
Root12 Cyclone Technology
This is the clever part of the Dyson, it spins air around at high speeds in the cyclinders and thats where the dirt and dust get thrown from the airflow. Its this technology that prevents the Dyson from Clogging ... ...up less everytime.
Dyson Turbine Head
Unlike most Vacuum cleaners with this one you dont need to change heads, you simply spin round and it picks up from hard floors and carpets. Although I have notiiced the Head getting Looser then it was. But its still tough enough not to spin on its own. But in a few months if that changes, then I will let you know.
Small and compact
This Vacuum, again unlike others is very small and yet it can be turned into ...

Advantages: Great Suction! Disadvantages: Expensive
...back problem.
Durability: The Dyson unit and accessories do feel very well made and strong and it comes with a 2 year manufacturers guarantee.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase, it was rather expensive compared to some other cleaners I’ve seen ( prices for this model range from £230 to £300 depending where you get it, special offers etc) but I’m hoping this is going to last many years. The performance is excellent and I know ...

Advantages: Looks good, no bag needed and very compact. Disadvantages: Heavy, loses suction and fiddly when putting away.
The Dyson DC11S/Y is a revolutionary new product from Dyson.
Its been designed to be compact which is very handy if you don't have a lot of storge in your house.
It also looks very modern so at least it will look good if its on view.
Its very simple to use authough wrapping it back up is not so easy. Its best to read the manual to find out how to wrap it up properly. Be warned that wrapping it back up can get very fiddly and extremly annoying ... ...had the hoover a couple of years.
I wouldn't buy dyson again authough I do like the design.
I bought the Dyson for approx £350 when it had recently been released on sale and I don't think I have achieved value for money due to the lack of suction. ...

Advantages: Excellent performance, easy and compact to store Disadvantages: Pricey, would prefer written instructions
I asked around for advice before finally deciding to purchase this Dyson model. In my experience the advice fell into two camps, people either won't be parted from their Dysons or they just can't get on with them at all. Previously I had used a second hand upright DC01 and didn't like it but I was impressed by the features this new model has. (this information is available on the Dyson website)
I purchased my Dyson online (I shopped around and got it for £235) and initially was concerned when my package arrived without instructions or warranty. A phone call to the helpline (handily marked on the body of the cleaner) sorted this out and in fact assembling it is less complicated than it looks and the pieces click satisfactorily together even when you're just vaguely shoving them in the right direction. The same is true of dis ...
Advantages: Good quality all-round vacuum cleaner Disadvantages: Not as stylish-looking as Dyson - but does it matter?
I agonised for a long time whether to buy this cleaner or a DysonDC11 Allergy. I was greatly seduced by the bright colours and stylish "modern" looks of the Dyson!
But in the end, after reading quite a lot of reviews and "interviewing" owners, "reason" prevailed, and I decided on this elegant but more conservative (dare I say boring) looking animal.
My chief reasons were the very considerable price difference, and reports of Dyson cleaners being less reliable than average (source: Which?), and of the breakability of Dyson plastic parts.
I'd heard Miele make the best vacuum cleaners, and can so far confirm this from my own experience.
To start with the essentails, the suction of this cleaner is amazing even though it is only a 1800W vac (Miele also build 2000 and 2300W vacuum cleaners). For cleaning carpet I usually reduce ...

Advantages: Powerful suction that never fails Disadvantages: Flimsey support for the hard pole due to small clip
is quite loud, due to the fact that it has very powerful suction. I would say that is approaches 100dB in noise, with that being louder than your average hairdryer. The amount of cable supplied with this animal is enough to do a large size living room, however if you have a room over 30ft, I recommend purchasing an extension lead as well.
There are hardly any products that can replicate this superior cleaning level. However, there is a newer model now made by Dyson aka the DC11. This is essentially the same as the 08 apart from the fact that there are twin suction chambers for more power. This is not necessarily double power but at least 50% more I would say. Also, the hose is now flat packed instead of being vertical and upright, eliminating the weak clip problem and making the hover even more compact. It is a little more than the DC ...
