MR DYSON HAS SOME POWERFUL ENEMIES and these dustmites are no way pleased!
After our Hoovervacuum packed up, we used our extended warranty to have it repaired. I must say I was very dissatisfied with the whole services from Hoover. Hubby and I decided to visit Alders of Croydon to buy another vacuum, even though we had two more years to run on it. It was our lucky break for at that time there was a promotion on Dyson vacuum models. We looked at the various models and asked questions and liked the DCO4i
There were many reasons why we chosen that particular model, but because it was suitable for allergy sufferers. Since most of the family are allergy sufferers excluding my hubby, it seemed to be the best of the other ranges. This beauty made me love it straight away especially the other features it contained. It suitable for carpet use, hard floors, curtains and upholstery. This DCO4i is upright and supposedly consist of a high performance dual cyclone with level filtration. When the demonstrator talked about cyclone, I immediately thought of a violent rotating windstorm that indicated to me the powerful system it has to retain. I watched the demonstrator placing pet hairs on the small area reserved for demonstration; it also picked up, infinitely or immeasurably small fine particles that have been broken up known as dust. I was amazed that she picked up about a tablespoon of dust, which are 2000 dust-mites living there! She told us more about these dust mites, and where they could be found. The same gram of dust holds that she held had around 250,000 or more of their poo that acts like missiles! They produces 20 faeces pellets per day and wait for it -----yep this is 200 times its body weight in poo poo during its brief life! (Incidentally, I had written an op on this, but have taken a small extract to add value of why it was important to buy the chosen model.) I thought and saw
a vision that here I will have a powerful tool to get rid of those enemies! And on top of it they ent gonna like Mr Dyson Heehee! When they are unseen to the human eyes, they can cause allergy problems, but under microscope, they resemble and related to spiders! Hah! Imagine that! I was amazed that this beauty with its brush control picking up pet hair and dust with accuracy. The woman demonstrated how easy this vacuum could be used. She made it so simple and since my hubby liked it and oh gawd, he is so awful when shopping, he has to see and asked every available question known to man, EVERYTHING! Where as my instinct tells me straight away this is the one, let go for it. After my patience, worn out we bought it with extended warranty plan.
~~~~Unwrapping the excitement of our new toy~~~ This beautiful baby with its colour purple-lime, looked so simple to use, there were not many tools you had to unravel. The tools consisted of the main body parts situated it its home. It has an inner bin, bin release catch, pre-motor filter, carrying handle, stair tools housing neatly. Brush tool, duct airway, hose, cyclone release catch, cyclone assembly, pre motor filter, bin release catch, wand release catch, on /off switch button, lower cable that winds easily, hose release button and many other features. It came with an instruction manual with most illustration of images that are clear to understand with arrows aiming its targets. The way the instructions are laid out is very commendable for you are left in no doubt as to what each illustration is about. Very rarely, you would fine any writing except briefly what each parts represents. There is also illustration on safety measures, clearing blockages, customer care phone numbers of four different countries including United Kingdom for customer care.
~~~Using this beauty~~~. What was remarkable with the vacuum it has automatic height ad judgment, which works well for the family, and very useful if you have backache, you do not have to bend down; the beauty of it is that when changing from different types of carpeting the height adjustment maintains harmony with contact fitting perfectly for its job. The disadvantage I personally found with this vacuum is the stairs, there is a yellow catch where the hose and the wand are ready to use, and it supposedly to reach the top of the stairs. I found it difficult to use. It has two types of action brushes, the manual off brush and upright is useful for floors, delicate rugs. The auto brush when swing back is useful for normal cleaning. There was a hairpin that I did not see, when vacuuming I noticed and felt this specified mathematical context airways,(Mechanical device) was making use of its airflow, it was minimising the blockage by annihilating the sharp corner and bottlenecks made such a racket. The racket noise it made, you wondered if this beauty was damaged, it was easy for you to diagnosed, that it was warning you that the brush bar was obstructed. The force that producing this pressure shows electrical signals passes to the edge of the cleaner head, and the way it works shows that the brushed that is attached to the support of the cleaner means that it light sharp contact of these powdery materials that also contains dust mites goes directly into the airflow. The end of the hose appeared to obstruct, in that same instance, the valve for an instant, moment releases to prevent you or anything becoming in a helpless manner and avoid contact thus making it less of a risk.
~~~Results~~~ The beauty of this enemy of the dust mites is that it works very well for both types of floors, curtains and upholstery. I did find that the stairs difficult to do, because the contact between the extended hose can stretch for a long way, I did pull too hard and found the small brush that was attached to the end of the extended hose pipe snapped. In all honesty, I was afraid to pull the hose further. So to avoid complication that job is now assigned to the younger member of the family. Gosh, they make it look so easy! If obstruction took place, the racket noise will occur, this noise makes you want to obey and stop, if you did not stop at its command, part of your machine becomes blocked and overheats, complicating its thermal cut out. The procedure is simple, as a rule, you must turn the power off and leave to cool down. Following illustration on how to remove brushes have a good advantage, that is because the assess to the airways means that you can remove blockage. Another result and advantage of this beauty is that the crevice, brush tools and stair are easily stored on the body of the vacuum; this is handy, making it easier to fit any tools directly to both wand and hose. When vacuuming curtains and upholstery you can reduce the power of the suction by releasing the button on the cuff of hose. This is reduced by 65 percent. Making vacuuming easier and manageable to control. The clear bin is very easy to use; you can always tell when it is full. When it is full, it is easy to empty. The beauty is no more vacuum paper to buy. The bin that housed the dusts and under micscrospe not happy looking dusts mites are easily dismantled and you can rinse with water. It is advisable not to use detergents, and you must allow drying before using it again.
~~~Dyson Extended Premium Plan~~~ We took out a five year extended premium plan, which cost £54 from Domestic & General Insurance, which covers from 2002-2005, included breakdown cover that means the cost of repair following a mechanical or electrical fault, which stops the vacuum from working properly. (Their exact wording) In addition, Accidental damage covers the cost of repairs following physical damage because of a sudden and unforeseen cause, which stoops the vacuum cleaner working properly. (Their exact wording) A year later, we had problem with the hosepipe. On our extended premium plan there was a phone number at local rate from Dyson’s Help line. We rang the number and within 24 hours our new hosepipe arrived and since then we have not had any problems.
~~~Price~~~ I cannot remember how much we paid for it but it is going for the price, in some electric stores they are selling them at £229.99. Last night when viewing the correct category for this op, I noticed that Electric shop is selling this model for £159’00 plus vat. Their home page is at: http://www.electricshop.com/details.cfm/ID/11621. Dyson also has a homepage found at: http://www.dyson.co.uk. For the price we paid I feel represents good value for money.
~~~In conclusion~~~ I would certainly recommend this vacuum, the results have been amazing, since we have been using the vacuum, the family’s allergy has lessen, I too noticed that the uses of inhalers has been dropped from 2 puffs three times a day to just one puff once day, which I use for nights. The vacuum is excellent for vacuuming mattress, car carpet and other areas not mentioned in this op. It is easy to use, though I find the stairs a bit of a problem. The communications with the staff are excellent. I must give credit too the staff when claiming for the hose-pipe they were able to arrange everything within 24 hours, collecting and returning the next day. I give Dyson 10 out of 10. However, I do not think the dam dust mites that cause havoc to the Reynolds household are pleased with Dyson!
