As I have mentioned I am a dog owner,I have two bull terrier/mastiff crosses, short haired that love shedding their fur all over the carpets.
Now they are only allowed in two rooms in the house downstairs, and both of those rooms have laminate flooring, which is easy for removing the hairs, but the kids pick them up on their stocking feet and walk them through the house.
When I moved into my latest house 2 1/2 years ago I decided to buy a new hoover, our family has a terrible history of breaking hoovers, so I decided that I would invest in a Quality product that didn't need bags every week, also the previous owner had cats and I wanted to ensure the carpets were well vacuumed prior to them being steam cleaned.

The Dyson animal is a variation of the dco7 model the main difference is the filtration level, and after that is the colour which is a distinct purple and silver with a clear dust collector, also provided with the animal is a turbo brush hand attachment, designed for removing pet hairs from furniture, but great for using in the car and on the stairs.

The dyson was speedily unpacked when we got it home, it was easy to assemble and get up and running. we took it upstairs and did the bedroom carpets first, the power in this machine was awesome, you could see the carpet lifting everytime the machine was drawn back, instantly you could see the dust and muck swirling around the dust pan, by the time we had hoovered 2 of the bedrooms it was time to empty the dust pan.
The process to empty the dyson couldn't be easier, there is a small silver button on the top of the dust collector that when pressed backwards releases it from the vacum, this allows the dustpan to be carried to the bin by its carrying handle, without being covered in dust. When the dustpan is positioned in the bin there is a plastic silver ring pull just below the carrying handle, that when pulled opens the release door in the bottom of the dustpan, hey presto all the dust falls out and you lift the dustpan out of the bin and clip it back onto the vacuum.
When I had finished vacuuming the carpets the house was a lot fresher smelling and the hoover even after all this time does not have any nasty odours .
The Dyson is a pleasure to use it makes light work of all the surfaces in the house, the rotating brush, is on a clutch mechanism, so when the machine is in the upright position for example when youare are using the hand tools the brush is not rotating and wearing down the carpet, or when cleaning the car not picking up dirt off the driveway.
The handle detaches from the body and can be used like a brush, great for getting into those awkward places,also the extension hose is attached up the back of the machine this is allows for easy transition from upright hoover to attachment use.
The extra attachment , the turbo brush is an excellent extra, it is a mini cylinder brush powered by the dysons suction power, this is great for hoovering the stairs and also for giving the car te once over.
The extension hose does have quite a long reach, approx 12 feet, but be carefull because the power of the hoover does not allow the hose to stretch that far when in use, and means that you do have to keep it reasonably close to prevent it from bieng pulled over.
The electrical flex is about 5 meters long ample for most cleaning needs.
This model states no los of suction ever, this is quite true, but the filters situated on the side of the machine need cleaning from time to time to maintain a decent suction level. This is done by simplu rinsing through with warm water. It is surprising how much dirt collects in the filter, These are lifetime filters but I have bought a replacement set qite costly at about £10, I found I needed to because I found it inconvieneint waiting for the one set to dry and not being able to use the hoover.
The rest of the machine needs little cleaning, I have wiped it down a few times since I bought it and it still looks as good as new.
The service plan,
Unlike other service warranties that deal with insurance companies, this warranty was direct through dyson and I have had to call them twice in two years, the first time I thought I could smell burning coming from the machine, I called the help line. was amazed when It was answered within a few rings, even more amazed when it was a person on the other end of the the line, and even more amazed when the engineer was arranged for the following day. The servce visit was fine the engineer arrived in his dyson van, checked the machine over found no real faults, other than a split in the main hose and also that I had broke an attachment, and replaced them promptly. The second time I called I received the same treatment, but didn't request an engineer just a replacement hose, and this was sent out within 2 days . i couldn't ask for more
Overall I wouldn't look at another brand after this one and for the little extra the service plan costs is worth every penny.

...an original Dyson. The original Dyson eventually broke after a year and a half. I went to my local Vac Centre who advised me that it would be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix it.
The man who owns the Vac Centre is very nice and he knew I had dogs and recommended I buy the Animal DC07. I am so glad I took his advice.
The Machine

It is grey and purple, which is appealing to the eye. It is also quite large and bulky but it does ... ...cyclone of power but this Dyson has seven cyclones of power. Pretty cool eh?
This Dyson has a bin instead of a bag which is wonderful, whenever it gets full you just detached from the machine by pressing a button, walk to the nearest bin, pull the lever and the bottom opens up to release the waste. Close the bottom lid with your hand, walk back to the machine and click back into place. Features

Advantages: extra tools,hepa filter Disadvantages: heavy, like all Dysons.
When I bought my Dyson DC07 upright vacuum cleaner earlier this year it was to replace my Dyson DC07 full gear. There was no problem with my 2 year old Dyson, just my mam wanted it! I went to my local Currys store and was told that Dyson now offer a 5 year parts and labour warrenty instead of the old two year one, also that Currys can cover them for accidental damage for £1 a month direct debit. For a pound a month for a £180 cleaner I was very impressed!! ... ...this was because my new Dyson was preassembled at the factory. So as I added the tools to the handy holders pointed out in the manual I decided this was much better than assembling them myself as it is necessary to do with the vast majority of vacuums (Vax been one of the worst culprits.) This machine has a HEPA filter to stop all the nasty bacteria in their track (great if you have allergies and asthma, I do) and a handy tool for the stairs and ...

This is my second dyson (I had cylinder dc02 clear for 9 years) as I am very impressed with the quality especially the suction.
This unit does not need any new parts during its lifetime. The filter can be washed rather than having to buy to new filters to replace - this saves approx £20 every 6 months.
So I've upgraded mine to this DC07 animal - bought used. The suction is super - I have long brown hair which inevitably ends up on the floor when ... ...am impressed as my previous dyson was not as efficient.
The floor cleaner part does have a big head and can be difficult to get into small corners but if you line up the head close to a wall, it will still suck dust and dirt out of the corner even though the brush will not get to the wall. I am having an extension to the house currently and you would not believe the amount of dust generated. This unit deals with it no problem and the floor actually ...

Advantages: Excellent Suction, perfect for busy households, customer service nearly excellent! Disadvantages: Expected the machine to last longer than four years, given the high purchase price!
I purchased my Dyson DC07 Animal about four years ago, it was purchased to replace an original DC01 which I was really pleased with, so pleased that when I damaged the machine (I fell down the stairs with it) I replaced it with the DC07. My DC07 cost approximately £350.
Initially, I was just as pleased with the DC07, it did everything it said it would. However, after only a few months things started to go wrong:
Split tubes (both stretchy tubes ... ...pleas from very early ownership Dyson would not replace the machine.
The warranty eventually ran out but the problems stayed. The motor was replaced early last year, free of charge (as a gesture of good will), but alas after only six months there are more issues - it just won't pick up. I've removed and cleaned all the removable and cleanable parts but still no joy. The machine is now being sold and I have purchased another brand of vacuum cleaner.

Durability
Quick review of Dyson DC 07 Animal Purple&silver
My Dyson is two years old. DC 07 (Animal Model Silver and purple)
I would have to say there are more disadvantages than not. The tools, fall off easily, the beater brush rolls everything up in it and must be disassembled and the hair and threads cut and pulled from the bristles about every third time I vaccume.
It has rolled up so many things and been cleaned out so many times, I am now having trouble getting the beater bar to stay engaged.
Would I pay $500.00 plus for this machine again? NOPE. ...

An upright vacuum cleaner in the sort of lurid colours Dyson has made their trademark; silver and purple, with a see-through container for the hair, and whatever else it might find.
I had done my homework in terms of features, and this was the one for me. Using Dyson?s patented Root Cyclone technology, and benefiting from ongoing research and development, this was the machine to cope with the hairy mess Doogie leaves behind every time he shakes himself...or moves...or lies down.
The Animal looks much like other upright Dyson cleaners ...

have to learn to recognise a different sort of language, one specific to manufacturers. Remote Trigger Bin Emptying, Anti-jam Brushbar, HEPA filtration, Brush Control? Sorry, but I just want to buy a vacuum cleaner. I want to switch it on, push it around the carpet and have all the cat?s hairs sucked up without clogging up the machine.
No search for a vacuum is complete without at least a quick browse of the Dyson range and it was while searching through their website that we discovered the DC07Animal. While it?s looks and purple and silver colour may put some people off, I personally don?t think it?s especially ugly but since most of the time it?s stored out of sight that wasn?t a great concern.
The first thing to attract us was the animal tag and the promise that it was the most powerful bagless upright for pet hair. The DC07 comes ...
