The Animal is an upgraded version of the standard DC07, it has the added advantage of being suitable for flat and carpeted surfaces and additionally was designed to remove pet hairs. It is primarily of plastic grey and contrasting purple construction. and has the Dyson "root" cyclone technology which according to Mr Dyson, provides an additional 45% more suck for you money...Nice! My wife is a self-employed cleaning contractor,so we decided to purchase this model as it appears to be a good "all-rounder," with the additional pet hair removal power. We also felt that the brand was trusted for quality and reliability.... and it comes with the Dyson two year warranty. The Device arrives boxed and requires basic assembly! This is quite easy as the instructions are well written. (unlike this review) The unit comes with some additional tools such as; Stair tool, Brush tool, Crevice tool and the multi-turbo head Brush tool. The Dyson is a bagless cleaner which is easy to empty and replace (just place above your dustbin and pull a tab to release the dust) The cleaner has a lifetime HEPA filter, which traps dust and micro-particles. I am told that this is advantageous for asthma sufferers. The cleaner has a built-in hose and wand for cleaning the stairs and is long enough for the Dyson to remain at the foot of the stairs... But beware, the cleaner can become unstable and topple over.... we wedge ours against the stairs and wall. all attachments fit smartly and the entire cleaner has been well designed. The motor is quite noisy, but appears powerful, our dog is terrified of it ! The supply cable wraps neatly around the back of the cleaner. One word of warning, the device is quite heavy and lacks the manouverability of some cleaners...and we also find that it struggles to clean along the floor alongside the kitchen base units due to its bulky suction head. There is an additional pre-motor lifetime filter with this cleaner, this filter can be washed from time to time. Accessories and spares can be easily sourced. If you want excellent results.... Get yourself one of these. We paid £229.00 from Curry's sale about 3months ago. We are still very pleased with our "Animal".
