After owning two much earlier dyson models (DC01 and DC02 absolute) I have to admit I am already a fan of dysons, but although they are still going strong they were unable to cope with the arrival of four houserabbits plus the fur they shed. As I was in Comets anyway for something else I noticed a stand with the new DC14 Vroom on it and decided to check out the specifications on it. The lifetime filter was one of the first thing that got my attention, my old machines needed them replacing regularly so this was an improvement. The next thing I noticed was the car tools, specifically the power bar head which is brilliant at getting bits out of car carpets, ordinary suction with upholstery heads never seems to get it properly. All the features pointed to a machine that was a significant improvement on my own original dyson models so I paid the £200 and brought it home. I decided the best test for it was the baptism of fire, the rug in the dining room where all the houserabbits hang out, and I was amazed at the results - It came up like new, hardly a missed strand of fur anywhere. All I will say is it has an astonishingly strong suck, and did try to eat the rug when I went over the corners onto the wood flooring. This machine has an adjustable brush setting and also senses when it is locked upright and switches off the brush bar in this position (for example when you are using the hose which really DOES reach the top of the stairs). Definitely an awesome piece of kit, well worth the money.

Advantages: None that I can think of. Probably ok as a light duty cleaner in a no pet household Disadvantages: Blocks and is cumbersome and heavy to use
