This vacuum cleaner is the latest addition to my home, after my Vax bagless finally gave up. The one I am reviewing is the DC14 for carpeted floors, though there are the DC14 animal and all floors versions.
Dyson claim that it never loses suction, and I have to say (at present) is completely true.
The Features:
Root Cyclone Technology.
This means that it maintains powerful constant suction, so that you get deep down clean.
Telescope Reach Wand.
This enables you to reach high places without having to assemble awkward parts. The wand has quick release and expands for instant cleaning.
The vacuum cleaner is approved by the British Allergy Foundation for use where allergy suffers live and work.
NB: BAF is a UK charity with the aim of improving awareness,prevention and treatment of allergies.
Filters.
Dyson DC14 as with all Dyson cleaners has lifetime washable filters.
The pre-motor filter removes down to 0.1 micron of dust particles, added to this the post-motor filter traps harmful carbon emissions from the motor, thus making it more environmentally friendly.
Bagless. As with all Dyson's this is a bagless cleaner and this makes for less work as no messy bags to dispose of. Instead it has a clear plastic bin which holds 2.7 litres of dirt. One touch bin emptying means that you don't come into contact with the dust. One click to remove bin and one to replace.
Instant Stair Cleaning. Stair cleaning is made easy with this vacuum cleaner , the extendable hose reaches to the top of the stairs, making light work of them.
Auto- Carpet Height Adjustment. This means that the cleaner always mantains constant contact with the floor, which allows for maximum dust pick up.
Airflow Tools. The intake nozzles of the DC14 tools direct high velocity airflow down into the carpet pile this has two main advantages: 1. You pick up more because the force of the air agitates and dislodges the dust. 2. The airflow is continuous even when cleaning curtains and furniture preventing them from sticking to the cleaner.

As I said I bought this cleaner after my one gave up on me, I have found that it is very easy to manouvre and is extremely hard wearing and really is powerful. It has fantastic suction and the bin is easy to empty, and remove and replace. I am amazed how much dust it collects even though I clean daily. The clear plastic bin means I always know when it is full, even though it does not lose suction even when full. It has 3 on board tools these consist of: a crevice tool, a flat tool for curtains and a brush for curtains and upholstery. It has lifetime filters so you have no extra costs once you have bought it.
It is a very attractive cleaner, mine is Gold and Silver in colour , although there is also a yellow and silver and purple and silver. One more good thing about a Dyson is they now give a 5 years warranty on all their cleaners this applies to all models bought after 27/07/2006.
You can buy the cleaners direct from the website at: www.dyson.co.uk, and from all good electrical stores and Argos. I bought mine from Argos and payed only £179.99 even though the RRP is £249.99.
As you have probably gathered I love this vacuum cleaner and highly recommend it. I am unable to comment on Customer Services as yet as I have not had to contact them. If I have to I will update with new information.

Advantages: None that I can think of. Probably ok as a light duty cleaner in a no pet household Disadvantages: Blocks and is cumbersome and heavy to use
