This is my third Dyson, so I had some level of expectation already, but was tempted by the word 'animal', being the owner of the world's hairiest dog, who likes to share his hair with everyone and everything I own. This is a powerful cleaner, and gets most of the pet hair up, although the acyual animal attachment thingummy is not as great as I imagined - in fact I still have to get a lot of the dog hairs off the stairs. The tools are generally good, but a big disadvantage is that the cleaner tends to fall over when I'm using the wand. It is very heavy, especially when lifting it up the stairs, as the wand is never quite long enough to reach the top step. Another annoyance is that the animal attachment doesn't fit nicely onto the machine for storage, like the other tools. Also, there is still no auto cord storage /wind mechanism. Despite these annoyances, this is still a very good cleaner if you have pets, and I would recommend it without hesitation.
