Brilliant!
The new Dyson DC15 its actually fun to use! The Ball is fantastic. I cant believe Im actually enjoying vacuuming.
I bought it to replace my very old 07 model which had taken enough abuse! Tesco online has a fantastic deal on at the moment, but I dont know when it will end, they are offering £100 off making it £218.97. This was the cheapest I could find after researching online for about two hours.
When it arrived it was very simple to assemble, and came with three attachments, the brush for things stuck to the floor or carpet, an angled attachment with a clever hole to vacuum curtains without sucking them in, and to get into small spaces like inbetween floor boards (Ive not got the knack of this yet!), and the mattress tool which is great for dusting as well.
Apparantly the air that comes out this Dyson is cleaner than the air that goes in, which is why Im using it for everything all over the house.
The ball is trule brilliant, the hoover twists and turns so its very easy to push and get into all areas. I have carpets, vinyl flooring and hard wood floors and the Dyson is great on all of them.
There are two wheels at the back which very cleverly fold up so you can get the Dyson into move angles and twists, its pretty cool actually!
The bin is easy to remove and empty, its also very easy to clean with a damp cloth if you want to get all the dust, but you dont have to do this.
I would watch out for Dysons advertising though, they go on about the 5 year guarantee but dont mention that you have to pay for this! It is worth the money, and was well used on my old Dyson. Repairs were carried out without hassle and were done quickly at a time it was convenient for me.
The cord is long too, which cuts down on the amount of time you need to unplug and plug in again around the house. Its also very very quiet even on hard floors.
The hose which was irritating on the old Dyson has been improved. The tube can be extended more and when fully extended the hose doesnt fold over stopping the suction the way it used to. It makes using the attachments so much easier.
More expensive than other brands of vacuum, but there isnt really any match for the Dyson. If your considering different brands, I would recommend a Dyson. If you are trying to choose between Dysons the dyson website is a good place to start, I would definitely recommend getting one with the new Ball technology.
I chose the DC15 all floors allergy, because I have no animals but a child that would benefit from the Hepa filter, and also because I have different flooring types in the house.
This vacuum is a great invention and makes housework faster and easier, and dare I say more enjoyable!

Advantages: All floor cleaning, ease of emptying, bagless, no suction loss. Disadvantages: Cost, some potentially vulnerable components, hose reach is less than older models.
