Simple but Effective
Advantages: Soothes and softens skin Disadvantages: Quite expensive; a bit greasy
...from eczema recommended I try E45 hand cream, as it soothes sensitive skin and relieves itching. I took her advice and bought a bottle of E45 Moisturising Lotion. The obvious advantage of a lotion over a cream is that it can be used on the whole body and not just the hands. However, the 200ml bottle was quite expensive even though it was on a special offer. It cost me £2.19 from Morrisons, but normally retails at £3.19.

According to the blurb on the bottle, the lotion soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. It also claims to be dermatologically tested and hypo-allergenic, which means that it is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction.

Over the past month or so, I have been suffering from dry, chapped skin on my hands. It has been especially bad on my knuckles and my skin has been very red and itchy. Initially, I blamed this on the cold, snowy weather, but when my hands didn't get any better when the weather turned milder, I thought I should splash out on some hand cream to try to cure the problem.

THE PRODUCT
As the picture above shows, the design of the product is quite simplistic. The lotion comes in a white plastic bottle with a flip top lid (different from the one pictured above) and has the E45 logo emblazoned across the front with 'Moisturising Lotion' in clear blue lettering underneath. According to the blurb on the bottle, the lotion soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. It also claims to be dermatologically tested and hypo-allergenic, which means that it is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction.
WHAT I THINK...
My experience of using the lotion has been very positive. I tend to put some on my hands last thing at night, as this allows it to soak into the skin overnight, but there is nothing stopping you using it more often if required.
Applying the lotion is very easy. Simple squeeze a bit on to the sensitive area and massage gently into the skin. The lotion is unusual in that it is perfume free. Presumably this makes it less likely to cause allergies, as perfumed lotions can sometimes cause more problems than they solve. Although the bottle states that the lotion is non-greasy, I personally found it to be quite oily when you first apply it to the skin. Fortunately though, once it has penetrated into the skin, the greasiness quickly disappears.
One thing that has particularly impressed me is the speed at which the lotion starts getting to work. Within minutes, my hands were feeling less dry and therefore less itchy. Even after a nights sleep, they were still feeling smooth and revitalised, so the lotion not only provides fast, effective relief, but also keeps skin feeling smooth for hours after application.
SUITABILITY
E45 Lotion is suitable for the whole family and is so gentle on skin that even babies can use it.
OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE E45 RANGE...
In addition to the Moisturising Lotion, there are a range of other E45 products available. These include:
E45 Itchy Relief Cream (50g tube costs £1.83 at most supermarkets); E45 Emollient Bath Oil (250ml costs £3.48 at Asda); E45 Junior Foaming Bath Milk; E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo; and E45 Sun Lotion.
CONCLUSION
Overall, I cannot really fault E45 Moisturising Lotion at all. Although it probably isn't the cheapest of lotions, its hypo-allergenic formulation makes it ideal for everyone, even those with sensitive skin. I would certainly buy this again and will undoubtedly try some of the other products in the range.

E45 is available in many different forms and my opinion is just related to the E45 lotion. The E45 products are made by Crookes healthcare, along with several other skin care products. E45 lotion does contain lanolin, which some people are allergic to this surprises me as it is supposed to be hypoallergenic. ...one of the best!
E45 is made by Crookes Healthcare, which is now part of the company Boots. Sir William Crooke and his son Henry first set up Crookes Healthcare in 1912. Other products which have been produced by Crooks healthcare are Strepsils Clerasil, Nurofen and Optrex.
There are many different types of E45 products available, and I have the Moisturising lotion. I have dry flaky skin as I have already said. I get especially on my arms and legs, ... ...wonders!
The moisturising lotion comes in a plain white bottle with blue writing. The only part of the bottle which isn't white or blue is the ring around the logo E45. The lotion come out of the top of the bottle, and is supplied in a squeeze bottle. Each bottle contains 200ml, which is more than enough for me, but if you want more than this, I have been told it also comes in 500ml. The actual lotion is white, and is a little runnier than I would ...

...I have been using the E45 Endless Moisture Body Milk for the last month now, I bought a 400ml pump action bottle for £4.99 from Boots the chemist.
There are two types, one is lightly fragranced and the other is fragrance free, I always wear my own `smellies` so I chose the fragrance free body milk and then there is no chance that it will clash with any other fragrance that I wear.
The white plastic bottle has a pump action nozzle which is a very ... ...get a little harder.
E45 do say that the daily stresses and strains of life can take a toll on your skin and I really do believe that. Have you ever had a day out shopping in the city and then cleaned your skin at night and have felt shocked at how dirty it is ? It is amazing how much pollution we have floating about in the atmosphere, take one good look at any make up removal pad after you have used it to verify that. The E45 Endless body milk ...

E45 is a subtle blend of ingredients that have been dermatologically tested, and is allergy screened. It also has no perfume and is non greasy. E45 is the nation’s number one skincare brand for dry, sensitive skin comprising a range of Cream, Lotion, Wash, Bath, and recently launched Shower formulation.

Upon removal of the bandages following my operation, my skin was flaky and very dry. As I have already said I was told to use e45, and went to my local Boot’s the chemist where I bought some moisturiser from e45 (which as we now know is part of the shop I bought it in- Boots). I took ...

Advantages: Moisturises, really does its job! Disadvantages: Nothing, perhaps the greasiness?
...A friend recommended E45 to me after we were in Superdrug and I mentioned that I needed some more moisturiser. I was slightly dubious about buying it because the packaging looked very plain, and nothing fancy, and at £5.49 for 500ml, it was a lot to buy if I didn’t like it. However, 500ml for £5.49 is good value, because 200ml normally costs £3.50. So, I decided to go for it!
The dermatological product has very plain packaging. The 500ml bottle ... ...white, with blue writing. The E45 logo is white, blue and pale pink, and is simple and to the point. The rest of the writing says ‘Dermatological E45 moisturising lotion, soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. Unperfumed- hypo-allergenic’. The packaging does hint as to what the product is about- it’s simple, not fussy, and doesn’t come with any extra frills. So, it’s the next morning, just had a shower, time to moisturise! I was slightly ...
