The condition of your skin is one which you should never take for granted, and it is important you look after it!! I moisturise my skin every day, and with the summer days arriving, it’s even more important to look after your skin. My legs often get quite dry, and particularly so after being outside after using sun cream. Also, with the summer weather comes skirts, and I was not keen for letting people see my flaky, dry pins! (that’s legs by the way…). And the level of flaky skin was actually quite considerable, so I knew I needed to combat this, and combat it fast.
A friend recommended E45 to me after we were in Superdrug and I mentioned that I needed some more moisturiser. I was slightly dubious about buying it because the packaging looked very plain, and nothing fancy, and at £5.49 for 500ml, it was a lot to buy if I didn’t like it. However, 500ml for £5.49 is good value, because 200ml normally costs £3.50. So, I decided to go for it!
The dermatological product has very plain packaging. The 500ml bottle comes as a pump action, and the whole bottle is white, with blue writing. The E45 logo is white, blue and pale pink, and is simple and to the point. The rest of the writing says ‘Dermatological E45 moisturising lotion, soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. Unperfumed- hypo-allergenic’. The packaging does hint as to what the product is about- it’s simple, not fussy, and doesn’t come with any extra frills.
So, it’s the next morning, just had a shower, time to moisturise! I was slightly delayed in actually using the lotion, because I had a bit of trouble turning the pump action on, but then I am blonde, and I always seem to have bad luck with pump actions and cream!! Once I finally got it working, I got the lotion in my hands, and started working it into my legs. My first thought was that the lotion was actually greasy, and left my skin looking shiny. But I kept going, and the lotion was absorbed into my skin so quickly, I was surprised at how easily it did. I took this to be a good sign, and decided to forget about the greasiness. I needn’t have worried about the greasy side effect, because it was absorbed so fast, it wasn’t a problem, and didn’t leave me feeling slimy and sticky! Interesting though, the back of the bottle does say it’s non-greasy. This doesn’t really bother me though, because the greasiness doesn’t last long at all. This also showed to me that the lotion gets working very quickly and effectively, so I like! The lotion is white, and isn’t fragranced whatsoever. Another positive of the E45 is that it can be used on the body, face and hands, which just shows how gentle it must be. I haven’t actually used it on my face yet, but a notoriously dry part of the body is the elbows, and after using the lotion for just TWO days on them, they are lovely and smooth! That was the ultimate test for the E45, and it passed!
In the evening, after I’ve moisturised in the morning, my skin (especially the legs) is still smooth, and actually feels nice and fresh. So, I have nothing but praise for this lotion. My skin is sensitive too, and I have not had one reaction, my skin is lovely and smooth and fresh, and I love it!! I reckon this lotion would be really good for family use, because it can be used on all body parts, is great for sensitive skin, shouldn’t give allergic reactions, and can apparently even be used on babies!
It can be bought from chemists like Boots and Superdrug, and from places like Tesco in the pharmacy department. Comes highly recommended! Thanks for reading :o)
