This is the closest a gamer will ever come to getting into the ring and trading blows with the greatest boxers of all time like Oscar De La Hoya, Muhammad Ali and many others. For the first time ever, gamers will truly experience the sensation of the sport with visual and audio effects like ear ringing, restricted vision, flashes of bright light, color shifts and blur effects that simulate the sense and feeling of getting punched. Imagine trying to recover from Alis lighting fast jabs when you can barely make out his glove through a blinding barrage of flashes and blur.
Advantages: The best looking game ever made. Fantastic depth of control. Disadvantages: As usual with EA games, crap music. Control system may not be to everyone's tastes
...subjected to yet another shameless EA product placement scheme. GRAPHICS I feel a bit annoyed with myself for harping on about how good the graphics are in previous PS3 games I've reviewed, because it takes the edge off of what I'm about to say. Graphically, this game is as close to photo realism as I have ever seen. Sweat glistens on the boxers, the damage you do to them is real time - keep punching the right eye, it will start to swell, then bleed, ... ...mode is brilliant too. EA have kept it very simple, but somehow you are still able to make a fighter who looks exactly how you want them too. The menus are well presented, everything is bright and colourful. If I had to be super picky, I would say that the crowds look a little bit Sega Megadrive, but you won't be paying much attention to them anyway. I also love the fact there are no stamina or health gauges. The camera gets right up in the thick ...

Vent your anger!! Review ofEA Sports Fight Night Round 3 (PS3)by
ricky109
Advantages: Great Controls & Graphics. Something a bit different Disadvantages: Limited single player appeal for some
Background: Im no major boxing fan, not by a long way, this is the first boxing game ive played (well since the ZX Spectrum, but that really doesnt count these days does it) but i would watch any major title fights if they were on at a sensible time?!
Gameplay:
The problem with Boxing these days is theres too much grabbing/hugging and the fights are over before they have started with the bookies. Thats where the PS3 improves the basics! The game ... ...I was impressed with the range of punches available and the total punch control given. Combined naturally with full block and dodge possibilities.
Career mode is long and while easy to learn, mastering takes some time. With the added need for training between signing contracts for fights. In between rounds in the fight you have a chance to recover scratches and swelling, but these can be done automatically if you prefer. Graphics:
Superb! Body ...

Advantages: Great boxing game. Disadvantages: none really!
...and miss knockout king series. Ea changed its tactics and introduced fight night in 2004 - the boxing titles were never the same again. The latest next- gen iteration arguably provides the most realistic boxing game ever.
With no competition on ps3, as it looks like ubisoft aren't bothering to bring their rocky license to the console, it wouldn't be that surprising if ea didn't work as hard on fight night as it perhaps might. Thankfully that isn't ... ...night really one of the jewels in the publisher's crown.
Total punch control - introduced in the first fight night version has demonstrated, fight night - returns and gives a greater influence over punching that any button combination ever could. While unwieldy at first, the use of the right analogue stick to punch is far more intuitive and satisfying than using buttons. For those unfamiliar with the system you push up and right to throw a right ...

Advantages: graphics amazing, action, skill Disadvantages: tricky at first (could be a good thing)
Does it float like a butter fly and sting like a bee?
I never buy boxing games, my brother lent me this game so I thought I would give it a try. What I enjoyed straight away from this game is that I beat my older brother on it on my first go when it was his game.
Graphics on this game are amazing this is next gen stuff not just a buffed up ps2 tittle, the control feels original aswell. To throw punches make the movement on the left and right anolog ... ...makes it feel more real and involves a lot more skill than just pressing a button to punch.
This isn't a game where you can just throw random punches and expect to win, it involves skill, well placed punches and lots of blocking. Its a little tricky at first but after about 30mins you will be rolling.
You can start as the lowest of the low being an actual boxer or making you own character to look like yourself. Work your way up into the heavy weights ...
