...The Hyla is relatively new to Britain but is very popular in Europe where it has been sold for the last 17 years. It is so much more than a vacuum cleaner. I use it to clean all my soft furnishings and curtains as well as my carpets and mattresses. It can also be used to clean the air - it takes about 20 minutes to completely filter the air in an average sized room. It removes even microscopic dust particles as well as a large percentage of bacterial and fungal spores, so is THE machine to buy if you suffer from asthma or allergies. It has a large range of accessories that you can buy, such as a hard floor polisher or even a window washer. Most importantly it just uses tap water as a filter, which you empty out each time you use it and therefore get rid of all the nasties - instead of storing them in your regular vacuum cleaner... ...I bought a wonderful cleaner. A vaporetto steam cleaner. This little machine is a marvel it cleans anything. I boughjt it originally to clean my carpets. It cleans them without leaving any ,marks or getting them wet. It cleans, sterilises and deodorises anything. IHighly reccomend it if you have animals, children, a kitchen or a bathroom. It is the easiest way to defrost your freezer, clean a greasy cooker, diinfect the toilet,or worktops, unblock sinks, and clean anywere without nasty chemicals.I have used it to clean the carpets after spilling coffee, no stains left. It cleans windows, tiles baths.In fact I haven't found anything that it will not clean. It works by generating a stream of high pressure steam, the safe thing is that only the 1" from the end of the tool gets hot, as soon as you are away from the end no heat or danger.... Read review

...recently bought this unit mainly for my lounge. it has a true BU rating of 11300, more than adequate for my 16x12ft NE facing room (late afternoon sun). Just a couple of points following on from other reviews. Yes, it is heavy, but really not so heavy as to be worried about. I managed to get the unit up a steep flight of stairs on my own, albeit just one step at a time. It is liftable for an average build male. As with all mobile air cons, it works best when the hose is of a length not exceeding the design spec. In this units case it comes with a 2meter x150mm hose. I have mine in a corner, next to a window which only has a top opening. The hose fits at the back of the unit, but even so mine pretty much still sits in the corner with the hose attached. I confess to a liberal interpretation to the 500mm clearance at the back... Read review
