►► ► Introduction to EIZO (I love the name)◄◄◄

EIZO is a Japanese company with the main business activities in development, design, manufacturing and sale of display monitors and peripherals, amusement products, and imaging system software.
Working with LCD monitors I've noticed that this company produces monitors of great quality sometimes even at the same quality and performance level as Samsung, LG or others LCD producers.

Regarding this monitor the EIZO FlexScan S1911SH I was attracted especially by the 2 ms midtone (gray-to-gray) response time or 6 ms normal response time specified by the producer and because I'm a great gamer and I also watch so often movies I decided to give a try to this monitor and I was not disappointed.

►► ► The speed and the image quality◄◄◄

While the producer specifies that The FlexScan S1911 is ideal for viewing moving images with its fast 2 ms midtone (gray-to-gray) response time and maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2, I find the brightness quite good but not perfect because are monitors with higher brightness on the market 400 cd/m2 or even 500 cd/m2. I liked the fact that this monitor has a sensor that detect the ambient light and adjust the luminosity according to the exterior light. This feature can be activated/deactivated from the menu. As for the response time, the monitor is excellent, I didn't any blurry image and I've played many games such as: Oblivion, Quake 4, Heroes 5 and many others. Just as perfect as an older CRT monitor.

The monitor is build on the TN (twisted nematic) + film display technology is the most common consumer display type, due to its low production cost and wide development. The pixel response time on modern TN panels is sufficiently fast to most users to avoid the shadow-trail and ghosting artifacts that were a cause for complaint in the past. While the fast response time, real colors, great luminosity and contrast are some of the advantages of the technology there are some some disadvantages like medium values for the viewing angles and also medium "gamut" .

♦ Overall this monitor has a great image quality, great response time but also medium luminosity and viewing angles and I recommend it especially for gaming, but can handle well and movies, browsing or Image editing

►► ► The features◄◄◄

The monitor is provided with internal speakers. The speakers are tucked away at the back of the monitor and out of view so there are no obstructions around the bezels. I personally hate the internal speakers because in my humble opinion they have medium sound quality and also they spoil the design of the monitor. But in this case because they are in the back their presence has been unnoticed by me:).

In the menu there are three specialized image adjustment modes for office applications (Text mode), web applications (sRGB mode), and individual user settings (Custom mode) are available in the OSD menu. DVI-D and D-Sub mini 15-pin input terminals allow the monitors to accept both digital and analog inputs. If both types are connected, you can switch between them via a front panel button. As I said a sensor on the front panel takes readings of the ambient brightness and signals the backlight to adjust the screen brightness accordingly. This keeps the screen at the ideal brightness level under all lightning conditions and reduces power consumption.

►► ► The build quality◄◄◄

The build quality is over my greatest expectations. The construction is just great, also the stability and I have a great opinion about the ArcSwing 2 stand that provides 104 mm height adjustment, 60° tilt and 172° swivel. The screen can even be lowered to an angle you would use for reading a book. The bezels on this stylish monitor are extremely thin: a mere 15 mm top and bottom and 13 mm on the sides. This not only saves space on crowded desktops, it provides a near-seamless view in multi-panel configurations.

►► ► Power consumption◄◄◄

Usually a 19 inch color monitor has a power consumption that varies from 42 Watt to 68 Watt and so the operational power consumption rated at 45 Watt of EIZO FlexScan S1911SH is just great. The power consumption in stand by / sleep mode is just 1 Watt

►► ► Warranty ◄◄◄

▬ Service & Support: 5 years warranty - just great
▬ Service & Support Details: Limited warranty - 5 years

►► ► Price ◄◄◄

The price varies from 298,85 EUR to 340 EUR and i think is quite high for an LCD monitor but quality cost.

►► ► Conclusion ◄◄◄: Impressive but expensive

What I like ▲ :
▬ Impressive response time
▬ Great image quality based on TN technology
▬ Extremely useful adjustments both horizontally and vertically

What I don't like▼:
▬ Medium viewing angles
▬ High price

♦♦♦The LCD technology♦♦♦
A liquid crystal display (commonly abbreviated LCD) is a thin, flat display device made up of any number of color or monochrome pixels arrayed in front of a light source or reflector. It is prized by engineers because it uses very small amounts of electric power, and is therefore suitable for use in battery-powered electronic devices.

♦♦♦ The gamut ♦♦♦
In color theory, the gamut of a device or process is that portion of the color space that can be represented, or reproduced. Generally, the color gamut is specified in the hue–saturation plane, as many systems can produce colors with a wide range intensity within their color gamut; in addition, for subtractive color systems, such as printing, the range of intensity available in the system is for the most part meaningless outside the context of its illumination.

♦♦♦ CRT♦♦♦
Cathodic ray tube - is an evacuated glass envelope containing an electron gun (a source of electrons) and a fluorescent screen, usually with internal or external means to accelerate and deflect the electrons. When electrons strike the fluorescent screen, light is emitted.
