It was called The Early Learning Centre Light and Sound Buggy Driver. It was made of solid hard plastic with no sharp edges or corners, very safe for a child. It had so many different colours on it, which in any baby’s mind is a great thing. From Green, Orange, Red, Blue and Yellow this colourful dashboard was going to do the trick. Whether your indoors, on the bus, walking to the shop or just taking a ride in the car, we all know that your child is going to get bored at some point, its shopping, why wouldn't they.
Kids want to run around, shout and scream, arch their backs when you try to calm them down and get them to sit back in their buggy's, We've all seen mum's at some point trying to do it. I’ve been there myself, I'm guessing most of you have too.
What I’d tried ************** Ok, what didn't I try? lol, No, I had tried everything to get Mitchell my oldest to get back in his buggy without screaming, from his favourite rattle to larger toys, pram toys that attach to the buggy with toys on, his juice, crisps, his dummy, (that soon got launched) it just wasn't going to happen so I ended up carrying him.
An Idea ******** We were at out local shopping centre at the time, Bluewater. I wasn't the only one going through it, there were loads of kids screaming and wanting to get out of their buggies. So I decided to go in a few toyshops to see if anything grabs Mitchell's fancy. Nothing, nothing in Mothercare, Nothing in Boot's baby section, nothing in Disney store. There was 1 last place that might, I say might just have something. The Early Learning Centre.
Looking around Mitchell saw loads of thing he wanted, great I thought but then I realised, everything he wanted was too big for him to play with in his buggy or they were not suitable for his age.
Then ****** Something caught my eye, something from the top racks was staring at me saying, I’m what you need, I'm right here. (Not literally) anyway I walked over and picked it up. Wow, that’s amazing I thought. It was a steering wheel, great idea I thought.
The Product ************* It was called The Early Learning Centre Light and Sound Buggy Driver. It was made of solid hard plastic with no sharp edges or corners, very safe for a child. It had so many different colours on it, which in any baby’s mind is a great thing. From Green, Orange, Red, Blue and Yellow this colourful dashboard was going to do the trick. Not only is it so colourful it has light up indicators and noises to make the Driver feel in control.
Description ************ Ok, you have a large green base, which is basically the Dash Board, with 2 large moveable arms, 1 coming from the left and one coming from the right. On top on the Dash you have two mirrors, 1 either side as you would any car both of which can be moved about.
The indicators that flash when a button is pressed are located in the centre of the Dash as is the steering wheel. The steering Wheel is a fairly good size and is fully turnable. It has a large Yellow button in the centre of it, allowing baby to press and BEEP to on-coming buggies.
The left of the Wheel has baby's gear stick, a blue round ball basically that can be moved up and down to make the lights (arrows) beside it flash. When pulled down for reverse the button light comes on and a reverse tone plays " beep, beep, beep, beep" and when pushed forward the up light comes on and this is followed by a driving sound " broom, broom, then it sounds like a gear change and broom again". Very clever really. That part is all set on a Red plastic square shaped Dash.
To the right of the Wheel, situated on a Blue plastic square shaped Dash is baby’s bright red ignition key (on / off switch basically) a bright Yellow speaker for the sound, a little round orange light at the top and 2 little buttons the top one orange and the bottom one green. Right when the ignition key is turned, baby hears the car starting, " chaga chaga chaga chaga...Broom" this also lights up the little orange light on top. Pressing the Orange button will set of a musical tune called Half a pound of tupenny rice, and when the green one's presses it plays She'll be coming round the mountain. Both button set of the lights all over the dash too. Situated just in-between the yellow speaker and the orange button, but just below the light is the Early Learning Centres Logo in the green Triangle.
How To Attach *************** Adding the Dash Board to your baby's buggy is very simple. All you need to do is use the two large moveable arms that I mentioned earlier, using the round plastic screw type thing at the end of each of the arm to open the clamp. Once the clamp is open place each clamp onto your buggy frame and tighten.
Adjusting to right height. ************************** Obviously the best way to get the right height is to put the baby in the buggy 1st. Then when putting on the Dash Board, clamp it in the correct place so everything is reachable for baby. Once attached to the buggy, the whole Dash can be tilted up or down making it even easier for your baby to reach.
Safety ******* The Dash Board is a very safe and well-designed toy for your baby. It has no sharp edges and everything is securely attached. As for the clamp, so that your baby's buggy does not get damaged in any way the Dash has added rubber grips inside both clamps which stop all kinds of scratches and dents to the buggy frame.
Recommendation Age *********************** The Buggy Driver has been recommended for children and babies from 3 months to 24 months. But I would say that it would suit a child of even 3 years old.
How it helps with learning **************************** On all of The Early Learning Centre' s Toys, they have added an icon's that will help you to understand which learning skill each and every toy will brig to your child. The Buggy Driver has been given the Stimulating Senses icon, which means that this toy will help your baby to look, feel, and listen. And also helps with eyes to hand coordination, meaning when a baby sees's something they want to reach out for it.
Price and Where to buy ************************* Obviously as this is a Toy from the Early Learning Centre, this is where you would buy one. I have never seen this Toy in any other shop so my guess is that it is the ELC own. The colours I have mentioned above are of the colours of the 1 I have and have most often seen. But I have once or twice seen it in darker shades of red and blue, and also in pinks and Purple's For just £20.00 this is a must have buggy toy for all children whether you have a girl or a boy.
Battery's ********* Requires 2 x AA Batteries, Included ready to put straight onto your baby’s buggy.
For more information on the Buggy Driver please see
Where there is only 1 bid on the Buggy Driver and the current price it as little as 99p. With 3 days to go and only £3.99 postage and packaging, you can't go wrong.
My overall opinion ******************* At an excellent price this Buggy Driver will have your baby amused for hours, so when out shopping your baby will no longer want to gat out and play because whilst sitting comfortably in his / her buggy they're the one who's in control.
I have only had mine just over a year but to this day it is still in perfect working order and still a must have toy to take out when shopping.
Thank you all very much for taking the time to read up about the Buggy Driver, I hope this has helped Good Luck and Happy Driving!

Advantages: Fun - Bright - Chunky - Durable - Keeps kids amused on shopping trips Disadvantages: well perhaps when they keep pressing the buttons over and over again the batteries wear out quickly

Advantages: Keeps the active toddler amused while trying to shop Disadvantages: none
I bought this for my daughter as she was getting to the active toddler stage and was restless in her buggy would not keep quiet for a few mintues for me to go into town so i had to come up with something that would keep her playing in her buggy.
When i saw the Light and sound buggy driver i thought oh this looks like it does enough to keep her amused and playing while i try and go about what i have to do.
When i first attched it to the buggy was ... ...to losen off the vice grips and then place it where you want it to go on the buggy and tighten the grips again it stays in place very well and i have noticed it cant really be moved by the toddler once in place.
This toy is full of colour to catch their eye and has quiet a few things for them to do and listen to. First off it has a gear leaver and this activates the indicator lights to flash when you change gears, the wheel turns and has a beep ...

Advantages: keeps kids amused while you shop Disadvantages: none
We saw another parent pushing their child round with one of these attached to the pram and we had to get one!
Essentially this toy is your child's own little pram control to keep him (or her) amused while you are out and about with the pram.
It is a brightly coloured green plastic item that sports a steering wheel, light displays which light up, a forward and reverse gearstick, 2 buttons which when pressed play a tune - one being "she'll be coming ... ...of tupenny rice" (now you are already singing those tunes in your head aren't you), the steering wheel has a horn in the middle of it to press, and there are 2 little side wing mirrors.
All this on one little pram toy. It's not offensively loud either, so if your little one presses the tunes buttons constantly (as mine does) it's not too embarressing in confined spaces such as a lift or the library. In fact most people stop and ask where the toy ...

Advantages: features are good Disadvantages: fitting to buggy etc has limited adjustments
Once my son was in that pushchair part of the pram the activity arch he'd previously used didn't fit so I went on a mission to find something else to attach to the pushchair to keep him entertained.
I saw this in store and thought it looked good, colourful and noisy therefore very attractive to children! Once we'd both had a quick go in the shop I decided to purchase one. It has a moveable steering wheel which is easy for little hands to turn, with ... ...mirrors one on each side, a couple of small lights that flash when music activated, one lever that makes a different noise each for forwards and backwards, 2 buttons that play a couple of different tunes. The 'key' turns it on/off.
It fixes to the buggy with screw clamps which is where my negative point of the toy comes in, it only really allows for width adjustments and although the main part twists a bit forwards and back I can see that it could ...

Advantages: Has all the bits that Daddy and Mummy use in the car Disadvantages: Mine broke quite quickly
...a let down for an early learning centre product as generally, reliability and built quality are very good. Aside from this, the product looks like it would actually be quite fun for a child, it has an ignition switch, side mirrors, steering wheel, indicators, gear leaver and horn. It\'s a shame that the product is not easily usable in a car, i.e. it doesn\'t easily clamp to a toddler\'s car seat.
Due to my issues however, I wouldn\'t recommend this ...
