Advantages: Number of buttons, Button Layout, Programming Software Disadvantages: Feel,
...The first thing to say is that this is not just another joystick. CH products are aimed at those who take their computer gaming very seriously. This is reflected in the price. However, as with most things, you get what you pay for. The F-16 Fighterstick USB is CH's most advanced joystick, aimed squarely at people playing complex flight simulation who need to keep their hands on the controls while playing. As such, there are 24 buttons on the stick, each of which can be programmed to mimic any keyboard command. It also has three modes, selected by a button on the stick, so each button can do three different jobs.
This is controlled by the programming software supplied. I found the software easy to install and easy to use. Within minutes i had 'mapped' the commands for Falcon 4.0 to the stick and was using it in the game...

Advantages: Solid Construction, features Disadvantages: Size! You'll need a big desk
...I'm an avid flight sim enthusiast and purchased the CH VPP as it appeared to offer all the features I needed for use in MS Flightsim. It's ideally suited for private and civil aviation sims, a flightstick would be the preferred choice for military sim fans.
The VPP comes with a throttle, two hat switches and a further six programmable buttons.
Installation was simple, just clamp to your desk, the controller installed easily under Win98 using the supplied driver and all the buttons and hat switches were configuravle in MS FS2000. The controller's action is smooth and perfectly weighted.
An additional option are the rudder pedals, linked via a Y cable they give excellent feel and also have toe brakes although FS2000 does not have support for this feature....

Advantages: Good price, fanastic card, a real boost over onboard sound ! Disadvantages: Sound recording problems with 3rd party software ..ill explain later...
...decent speakers to.
Audio Production: This comes with a little warning that I have discovered with many hours of my own time wasted. But it isnt likely to be a problem to many users of the card.
This soundcard plays back great with all media, and the recording side is no let down, crystal clear recordings, with very good clarity and precision sound reproduction / playback. A real boost to normal stock soundcards…. However… although this all seems great, (don’t get me wrong I love this sound card) I did discover that it is not always compatible with some software. The ONLY fault I have discovered is that it doesn’t work well with EMAGIC’s LOGIC AUDIO PC version when recording creating a tremelo effect .( violent modulations in volume making it sound like someone is playing with the main volume...up...then down.... up ...then down etc etc...

This is a mini chopper which is really useful if you just want to make a small quantity of something like pesto or houmous, or just chop an onion.
It is inexpensive (I paid £19.99 for mine) and doesn't take up too much space in the kitchen. Its... more
This pedal produces a sweet chorus effect which has served me well for a couple of years now. The chorus can be altered from a slight effect, to a shimering chorus with great depth. The pedal includes effect level, depth, eq, and rate controls. Having... more
