First I have to apologize my English. Coming from the German Ciao I just thought about writing in English and so I’ll try it.

One of the most important part of a PC is the Mainboard (MB), because all informations has to pass it. So I was very unhappy, that I had problems with my new one at the beginning.

The MB has the old chip KT266A. Now the newer KT333 is already available. But I prefered to buy it, because it is a well developed one and the new KT333 is just 5%-10% quicker. Normal PC-User don’t notice that little more performance.

The handbook is ok. It came in English *grin* but there is a German one available on www.epox .de. Ok, ok...*grin* The information in the book are ok. Detailled information what happens if you change things in the BIOS are not clearly made.

Very good is that on the MB is a LED which shows the errors the MB has. In the handbook it’s written what they mean.

The MB is nearly without jumpers. If your CPU is not correctly detected check the handbook and you will find that you only have to move a single jumper.

The mainboard is as well very good for overclocker, because you can change a lot in the BIOS.

I had some – just – little problems with fixing my CPU cooler. The size of the „Neolec Vento“(=CPU-Coller) is at the bottom 60x60 mm and goes bigger to 80x80 mm at the top. There have been some parts of the MB that nearly touches the cooler. But it was not a very big deal to fix.

The sound-chip on board is not very good. I had to change from passiv to activ loudspeaker. Then it is ok.

There are news around that on this Mainboard (=MB) the new Geforce 4 graphic-cards can’t be fixed, because a part is in the way. That is not really true. Just for the bigger GF4. My GF4 MX460 fitts very well. But Epox removes this part cost-free (in Germany they do).

The epox 8kha+ is a very good MB for normal PC-Users. It is stable, not very expensive and you will find on it a lot of ports you can use, if you want to upgrade your PC later. It’s running inside my PC for a longer time. With WIN XP Pro. it is running 18 hours a day without any crashes.

I think you can buy this MB but...

...that’s Just My Opinion

Thanks for reading, rating and I liked to read some comments. AND ... hey...

... if you find any writing errors...........You can keep them! *gg*
