I, myself, play a very diverse range of genres on guitar. One could find me playing metal, rock, funk, blues, classical (that's right, mozart, bach, etc.)- You get the idea. ESP is usually able to make all of those sound just find, regardless of which guitar you've purchased. This guitar is an ESP LTD. LTD is to ESP as Epiphone is to Gibson. This doesn't mean it's any less well constructed. For particular specs please look it up at musiciansfriend.com. If I had to compare the sound and feel of this guitar to another, I might compare it to one of the low-end Schecters. ESP and Schecter are both great for metal, specifically, which is why they are quite similar. The body of the newer model of this guitar looks very much like the Schecter Omen-6. The 'MH' line of ESPs are very reliable and I will always recommend them. If you're just beginning or perhaps are simply looking for an inexpensive instrument, this would be a fine match.
