Advantages: choice of many markets Disadvantages: Everything you could think of!
I joined up too E-Cortal at the beggining of 2000 and took advantage of there no commision charge on the NASdaq. However this brought me more grief than i have ever experienced with an online stockbroker.
The quotes nevera appeared so i used another broker too get the quote while i was placing the trade with e-cortal. This i could live with, as I just considered i was placing market orders..
However what made things worse was ... ...as they insisted or my modem which is ASDL.
It was unacceptable i found it impossible too trade because of the poor service. And the telephone brokers were useless most sounded like poorly educated school drop-outs from france! Not a problem that they were french, but if you have english clients it would be good too understand the client, i often found myself speaking french too them telling them too sell Microsoft!

Please don't waste your time with this broker. Every other broker out there is better than e-cortal!
