Earache and toothache have to be two of the most uncomfortable conditions that anyone can suffer. The nagging pain of earache is very hard to relieve. Often as we get a bit older ear wax becomes a problem. The wax is produced in small glands situated inside of the ear canal, the glands produce a thin film of wax to keep our ears clean and help fight against any infection. If too much earwax builds up then that`s when the problem starts, my husband has suffered from hardened wax building up in his ears for a while now, it seems to be a problem that has worsened with age. If the wax builds up too much then his ear canals get really painful and the build up also starts to affect his balance and then he has to have them syringed by the Practise nurse at the local Doctors surgery.
When you start to feel that your ears may be waxy there is a huge temptation to reach for a cotton bud and try to remove it manually...Big Mistake!...our GP told us that poking about with a cotton bud can do far more harm than good, more often than not you end up pushing the wax further down into the ear canal and heaven only knows what damage you are doing to your inner ear in the process.
This is where a visit to the pharmacy counter comes in, Earex drops are usually found on the shelf.
Earex contains almond oil, peanut oil and camphor oil, all are substances that help to soften the hardened wax and help it to come away from the ear more easily. But always bear in mind if you have a nut allergy then you cannot use earex. Once the bottle has been opened then you should not keep the contents for any longer than eight weeks.
I generally put the Earex drops into my husbands ears at nighttime, its a simple pain-free process, he tilts his head to one side and I put about five drops into each of his ears using the dropper provided with the bottle. As he puts his head straight again a tiny amount of the Earex liquid always leaks out, but its easily wiped away using a tissue and by then most of the liquid is setting to work on that hardened ear wax. The process needs to be repeated the next night and sometimes we have had to use the drops three nights in a row. At that point a cotton bud does come in handy to clean the outer ear properly, Earex drops have taken care of the inner ear problem but we mustn't ever forget to keep the outer ear clean too.
Anyone who suffers from wax building up in their ears will benefit from using Earex, it usually resolves the problem in a couple of days. If you find that the problem still persists after that then an appointment to see the GP would be the next step. But Earex drops do help us to take care of ourselves. Earex drops are available from leading chemists and supermarkets and cost around £2.89 for a 10 ml bottle.

Advantages: This product is un-helpful. Earex should be taken off the market straight away Disadvantages: Earex causes deafness. If you suffer from tinitus Earex will increase the volume of the hiss.
