Hello pals!
I am very surprised to find that nobody has yet reviewed the fabulous Earfit earplugs. Now, I don’t use these earplugs for travelling as it states on the packet, but I do have good reason for them as you will come to learn……::::: The product :::::Earfit earplugs are a mid-range product designed to block or significantly reduce sound from external sources. I always buy them in packs of 6 pairs, but each pair will last far longer than one use and I go through no more than one pack every six months. The earplugs are an attractive bright yellow colour (so you don’t notice any waxy build up on them- eugh!) and come in a white box with pictures on the front. The earplugs are in the classic cylindrical shape, rather than the more common tapered shape you see nowadays. I personally, from a comfort point of view, prefer the tapered earplugs, but you have to get the quality/comfort balance right when choosing aural protection.
::::: The Effect :::::
I usually use these earplugs when my mother plays her accordion (which she does for a few hours a day, it is her retirement hobby much to my dismay). The instrument is quite loud, and gives me a huge headache so I can’t complete any of my reports necessary for my job. After finding she had no intention of giving up, I took the “if you can’t beat them, join them” approach and took up accordion playing myself. Unfortunately, I began to suffer ear pain and have had to stop for some time now. I honestly miss with all my heart relaxing to play Piazolla’s elegant tangos on my squeezebox…. But I believe that is for another review.The only option I had, as I work from home, was to find some way of drowning the noise out. The first thing that came to mind was earplugs (after, of course, requesting my mother to stop but alas she tortures me with her musical skills). I came across Earfit earplugs on browsing the internet, finding them at a reasonable price on Amazon.com (which I will cover later). They arrived promptly through the post, and on receiving them I read the instructions and rolled them between my fingers to soften them up before inserting them in to my ears. The effect was immediately noticeable. My mother’s playing became nothing more than a distant hum, although I must admit it is quite disconcerting hearing the sounds of your own blood rushing about your head while you have the plugs inserted.
I have been using the plugs daily ever since, and have never had any complaints, apart from the occasional bought of waxy build up due to overuse.I purchased my earplugs for £9.99 from Amazon.com. They are not the cheapest earplugs around, but probably the most effective at this price (especially if they can drown out my mother’s constant accordion playing!). As another plus, they last a very long time so it’s not as if you will have to keep buying replacement packets.
::::: My Opinions :::::
I would recommend this product to anybody with an overzealous mother, or simply anybody who just needs a bit of peace and quiet. I’ve tried sleeping with the earplugs in as well, and as they fit snugly in to the ear canal there are not problems or discomfort caused by sleeping on your side. An all-round winner I’d say!

I'm looking for some earplugs to cancel out my noisy neighbours on Friday nights... these sound like they should work!
