    When I was working in a nursery one of my responsibilities was to work with the other nursery staff to plan a sports day for the children and one of the items which we went and purchased to use on the day were the early learning centres egg and spoon race kit. The egg and spoon race kit contains four different coloured plastic spoons, as well as four plastic eggs which split in to two if dropped and open up to reveal a small bean bag which looks a bit like a fried egg!     Advantages Advantages Strong plastic, Can be wiped clean, Great form of exercise

    I purchased the Egg & Spoon race set from eBay; how-ever you can purchase it from the Early Learning Centre for £6.00. The set includes 4 spoons and 4 eggs. Each of the spoons is different colour which includes red, blue, yellow & green. All the spoons have matching eggs to go with them. The spoons are made of very strong plastic and won’t break if they are dropped, or stepped on. In fact they are so strong I don’t think anything would actually break them. The eggs are also made of plastic which is slightly shiny and each egg has what looks like a crack down the centre. This splits the ... more

The toy can be purchased from the Early Learning Centre, Mothercare and other shops such as Debenhams for around £6-7 (May 2012). The toy is suitable for children from the age of 2. The toy comprises of 4 plastic spoons, reds, blue, green and yellow and 4 plastic eggs that open up to reveal 4 bean bag fried eggs.
