I have still got a lot of these lovely colourful EVA foam sheets which I bought from the Early Learning Centre. I bought 80 sheets of this nice foam when they were selling it off cheaply. The foam came in packs of 20 sheets and all the colours were nice and bright and ranged from blue to green to yellow to red, all the colours you could imagine. There were two sheets of each colour in every pack.

The sheets are a good size and measure 14.5cm x 22cm which is roughly the size of an A5 sheet of paper. They only cost me £1.50 for the pack of 20 though I don’t know how much they were at the full price, mine was reduced. I bought a lot of them in one go because I thought they looked very good value for money.

I really like this foam and I bought so much of it because I do a lot of my own model making and I enjoy making finger puppets for Playgroup in the village. This foam is lovely, I find, because it is nice and bendy and flexible and it is easy to cut and always glues well.

When my granddaughter and I use it to make Christmas tree decorations, I tend to use just PVA glue for these and I find it sticks very well. When I am using this foam for myself to make finger puppets or the little pencil toppers I also make, I use Bostick because I think it’s better if I use a slightly stronger glue to make sure the foam sticks well together. Each piece of foam is 1mm deep, so they are a decent depth too.

I think these lovely foam sheets are suitable for children of about three years up to about 11 years old and they are very useful and handy for rainy days when we are stuck inside and we want to be creative. They are useful so many different crafts and together my granddaughter and myself have made pretty little Christmas tree decorations, decorations to hang on the wall of her house, collages and pictures. I have shown her how to make her own greetings cards and because the foam is very flexible and easy to cut, it is easy for both of us to make some delightful little birthday and Christmas cards together for family and friends. It is a good way of keeping us both entertained when she comes to my house.

I now have about only one pack left and even this last one has already been opened, so they do get well used. I have had a lot of lovely compliments for my pencil toppers and I glue on googly eyes and fuzzy hair to make them look like little people. I do the same thing with my homemade finger puppets and I buy the little accessories from the craft shops.

I really do think this is lovely versatile foam pieces and so handy to have to keep little children entertained for hours.
