I bought an E L C wooden farm for Adrian’s 2nd birthday. This farm is a traditional wooden farm. I bought this farm for £15.00 I notice in their online sale today it is only £12 but there is no stock available.
This set has a wooden farm base that folds into half for easy storage. ... Read review

...them to Adrian.
The early learning centre sells animals and a tractor seperatly to go with the set..
I must admit when I gave it to Adrian he was not desperate to play with it he was keener on the toy washing machine I had also bought him. I was not surprised as that made noises the farm did not. The farm is a toy that is really recommended for a 3 yr old. Adrian has played with the animals and tractor before so I know he will develop and play ... ...a farm today with his parents as his bday treat. He can say and recognise some animals cow, sheep, pig and make the appropriate noises.
This farm is really an educational toy, (do not tell Adrian) when he gets a little older he will be able to do some easy maths with it counting the animals. He can already count 1, 2. He can sort the animals into sets all the pigs in the sty the cows in the field also learning where animals live and the names of ...

Advantages: Can be collapsed flat after playing for easy storage Disadvantages: Can be tricky for kids to put together
We got my son the ELC Wooden Farm for his Christmas present when he was 2 years old. He was always into animals and loved playing with horses and dogs especially, so we thought a farm would be an excellent toy for him.
We paid £15 for it 2 years ago and I have just checked the ELC website and it is still the same price today.
What do you get: - Well there are two large wooden floor pieces with grass and a pond painted on to it. This is meant to ... ...They just sit next to each other or you can have them anyway you like - that’s the beauty of kids imagination!
You also get a cowshed, a stable, a pigsty, a dog kennel, and another building, which I guess could be a barn.
Along with this you get chunky wooden fence pieces, which slot together to form a wall all the way round the farm. These can also be used to make other things, like a small enclosure in a field for a horse or even a chicken pen.

...wooden farm set from the early learning centre.
What you get for your money
*************************
The farm comes flat packed and is really easy to assemble. It consists of a wooden base measuring 45 cm x 37 cm. The base is green to represent grass and has a painted stone path winding up to the top of the base. There is an area painted blue to represent a pond. The set contains a chicken coop, pigsty, sheep pen, barn, outhouses, fences and ... ...farmer are not included. The early learning centre makes good quality animals for about £2 each. The farm set costs £15,which I think is good value.

This is a great value toy that will encourage imaginative play. I think like all play, it is beneficial for a parent to play with their child. This toy will encourage language development and later can be used to encourage early maths skills by sorting the same animals together and ...

Advantages: Encourages a child's imagination. Disadvantages: Requires some assembly. Roofs can be flimsy.
Kids playsets tend to be increasingly...........plastic. Call me old fashioned (gar, you are old fashioned) but I clearly remember having lots of wooden toys that didn't need batteries. I remember the smell and taste of lead based paint on badly sanded forts and castles. Without trying to sound like an old parent, "kids nowadays don't use their imagination anymore". If you look at the average toy for the pre-school age child it has the following;
... ...that flash and blink.
Annoying melodies that sound funny when the batteries start to go.
Finally, all the character of a McDonalds happy meal toy.
You would think that the age of the playset has passed? Wrong. In an age where we are all going retro and nostalgic, I present to you The Wooden Farmyard. Taaa daa. Not one flaming double a or c cell required. The only sounds come are from my son ramming the tractor over a cow and into the barn like ...

E-I-E-I-O !!! Review ofEarly Learning Centre Wooden Farmby

Advantages: A good realistic toy Disadvantages: Animals, farmers and tractor not included
...why I really like the Early Learning Centre's Wooden Farm set. It looks like a farm (minus the mud!) with realistic brick buildings, fences and dry stone walls. The extras you can buy all look like real farm animals rather than plastic moulded creatures that only vaguely resemble the animals they are supposed to be.
My eldest son had the farm bought for Christmas when he was three and two years later it is also a favourite of his little brother. ... ...pieces and is painted green with painted on tractor tracks and a pond. The four buildings are all made of wood which is painted on some buildings to look like grey stone and on others it is painted to look like red brick. It all needs putting together as each of the walls and roofs are all separate. It also includes pieces of fence and wall which can be linked together to either go around the green base or made into separate fields for the animals.

Until I bought this toy my son only had one inflatable ‘roll about’ cyclinder with balls inside which he absolutely loves as it is light and he can pick it up. My husband and I always thought it would be much better if it was made with a... more
