Come on lets play. We are going to the house corner lets pretend it's a café today .
I like pizza to eat. What would you like to eat? Look teacher has bought us some pizza. The early learning centre sell this, it costs £6.00. Would you like a slice?

This round pizza is already cut up Into 6 pieces. I can pretend to cut it with the pizza cutter that came with it from the early learning centre. There is a scoop for me to put it on your plate too.

This pizza is a round brownish coloured representation of a pizza it has pieces of what looks like salami, tomato, onion and cheese on it, a fairly good representation of a real pizza. It is made from a hard plastic and should last quite a long time.
It is easy to wash, important as the little dears may try /pretend to eat it putting it in their mouths

This play pizza will encourage imaginary play. It will encourage social skills; will be a good tool for talking about sharing. There are a lot of play opportunities to be had from this play pizza.
You can use this pizza as a maths tool it will provide opportunities for counting and division.

This would make a good addition to the house corner at school , or at home. It would be a good christmas present for that pizza loving child to have

A good way to make a pretend pizza is to get your child cut out food from old magazines or food adverts from the supermarket and get your child to stick these on a paper plate. this will of course not last so long but is fun and a bit more educational as they are using scissor skills and thinking about the foods they would use to make pizza.

You could also make salt play dough and use this to make pretend pizza,
recipie 1 cup salt, 1 cup flour,1/2 cup water . just put in large bopwl and mix together adding a few drops of any colouring required to water before mixing. nead till smooth .
this can be kept in plastic bag for a couple of weeks. if you shape it leave it in warm pklace it will dry. put on bottom shelf of oven after you have turned it off after dinner and the shapes will dry quicker . Thanks to jo154 for reminding me about play dough
