The Ebay chat and discussion boards are by far the best way to find out all the ins and outs of using ebay. From how to set up an auction to posting items abroad - everything you could possibly need to know can be found on the boards. If you can't find the answer - then ask a question of other members on the appropriate board.
The answers you need for everything you could possibly need to know about ebay will be far easier to access on here than ... ...When I was first an ebay member (many years ago now!) I went on the boards to find some answers to some questions. I got addicted to them and made loads of friends - some of whom I now exchange birthday/xmas cards with etc. However, I dared to answer someones question, it was not the response they expected although it was a truthful and honest answer. They then proceeded to wreck all my auctions - by that I mean they bought all my items for sale ...

Advantages: A real community, informative, helpful and fun Disadvantages: It can be a harsh place, but only if your naughty! Ignore the trolls
I have used ebay for years and been on the boards for nearly as long. It can be daunting and lots of buyers and sellers only go looking for the boards when they need help, but reading them and getting to know more about ebay and paypal can keep you safe and out of trouble.
HOW TO GET THERE
When on ebay, there is a tab to the ebay community. When you get there there are loads of places to go!
WHAT YOU FIND WHEN YOU GET THERE
You have the feedback ... ...There is ebay my world which is relaitvely new, you can add a photo, it shows your feedback and items for sale. Then there is the answer centre, I don't use the answer centre as I don't think it is as good as the discussion boards.
There are also groups, some of which are public and any ebay member can join, most are private which means you either have to be invited by the group, or request to join, then the members will decide whether or not to ...

Advantages: Get to find what the latest buys and sells are Disadvantages: can end up selling something for less than planned
When on Ebay chat or disscussions you may come accross somebody selling something without listing this is good as you can get cheap bargins without going through all the ins and outs of bidding and then sorting out payment to buy. Unfortunately some things being sold on here could reletively be scams. So it does have ups and downs. If you wanted to sell something on the discussions-which would save you going though having to list it- be careful because ...

Just like communities evolve on sites like dooyoo, regular ebaying enthusiasts also ... ...side also contains more specialised Ebay sales - in particular cars. Until I started to read ebay boards, I had no idea of the EXTENT of the fraud that goes on with Ebay, other than what is picked up by the newspapers and watchdog type programs. However I would have always "googled" the item I was looking at along with the words "ebay and scam" to see if anything came up. Motors has a board to itself and it is pretty active.
