Most of us most have done it, we see a cheap flight advertised, in newspapers, teletext or even on the net, but then they never seem to be available when you want to travel. Well, I have discovered that ebookers has a page that helps you track down them cheap flight. It is the special's offers page (http://www.ebookers.com/travelagent/spe​cialoffers/specials/) Here they list all the cheapest flights to top destination but also include when the deal is available. e.g. On the page now we have a flight to Boston from London with Iceland air and we can see that you must fly by the 31 March 2001 for £202 but you must book by the 12th March 2001.

The site will also check the availability of the flight online and also where and how long stopovers are (if any) it will also tell you the type of plane and how long you are in the air, if you are interested.

The only problem with all this is the site checks this in two stages:-

First it tells you all the prices on the day you wish to travel and return so you can select from the airlines you like a few that best suit your needs, then once you log on it will tell you if there are seats available. I have found this a little disconcerting when I thought I found some good deals only to find on the next page there are no seats available. But a quick hit of the back button and a few changes in the search criteria and you can get the deal you want and at the price you can afford. I saved over a hundred pounds by flying the next day and staying a day longer.

What I particularly like about the special offers page is it comes in very handy if you are looking for a cheap break but do not mind where you want to go and would like to look at what deals are available. What would have been more helpful is if the search criteria allowed you to search on a range of dates.

I have booked many flights and a hotel with ebookers and the only small problem I have had was they did not give directions to the hotel, I had to go to Waterstones to read the rough guide for that.
