...Recaived this for christmas, first one wold not work, in that you would switch it on, but the lens appeared to get stuck while it was coming out of the cassing. Sent back to the shop (Argos) and replaced for the exact same model.
The replacment worked fine first time. Battery took a while to charge up, but after then it only takes about 30min, takes good photos out doors but indoors where it is dark they tend to come out with a 'salt and pepper' look to them. The software with the camera is a bit on the cheap side but it does the job. Not much in the way of settings for taking landscape photos, but as a point and shoot camera its not to bad.
Bought a spare battery and a 512 xd card for this from ebuyer. The included internal memory 12meg is not large enough to accomedate many pictures at a resolution of 5.1mp.
The optical zoom...

Advantages: Compact, Very Easy to use Disadvantages: Flash takes a few secs to load
...I bought this a few weeks ago as I needed a camera quickly because I was going to a concert and obviously wanted to take some good pics.
I didn't have a very big budget so settled for this model from Ebuyer.co.uk for approx £75
I had read mixed reviews so was a little concerned but overall I am very pleased with its performance.
The camera is 5.2megapixels which, I believe, is high for the price. Many cameras around this price only have 3-4mp. I has 3x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom, which can obviously make the pictures very 'pixelated' but this is to be expected using any digital zoom.
It has a 1.8 LCD screen but also a viewfinder which is really useful if you don't want to waste the batteries using the viewfinder
As well as taking photos you can record movies. The camera does record sound but won't play it back, so you can...

Advantages: It's cheap and getting cheaper Disadvantages: Bigger than sd/xD?
...This card (from ebuyer for under £20) is the main one I use for my Olympus 8080 megapixel camera. I can get 240 8MP .jpg photos on it, which is enough for a weekend away or any other short trip, but having a couple is enough for a weeks holiday. It reads and writes as fast as the xD card that my camera also takes and costs about half as much so no complaints. If you have a lower resolution camera this card should really be all that you need. It will hold 400 photos at 4 megapixels and almost 500 at 3MP.
It will fit anything with a type 1 CF slot, which is most larger cameras, some pdas, mp3 players and the like. As it's solid state there no real problem with swapping them round as much as you need, not like microdrive which i've been told can get a bit wobbly with too much handling. Just don't drop them on the beach as unlike the other...

Since my eyes were drawn to these in Comet, I have never been able to get out of my head of what a great idea it is. Not everyone can display all of their photos they have, buying loads of frames, finding the room to hang your photographs, and even doing more
