I have been a member of ebuyer.com for the last three years, making multiple purchase's of computer components each month.
I have often found eBuyer to have the lowest prices for computercomponents as well as some other electronic devices. However this is not always the case sites like dabs.com and scan.co.uk can sometimes be a bit cheaper. An issue that I have noticed with ebuyer is that they often appear to mis price an item. On Friday I was able to purchase a graphics card (X1600xt 512mb PCI-e) for £40 latter that day the price had jumped up to £120 I must point out the graphics card was not listed under any special offer or any deal. If you do see an item at a unbelievably good price go for it, don't wait around as the price can change quickly. I have seen this happen a few times on their site.
I would not say ebuyer are one of the quickest when it comes to getting stock of new components I have often seen myself visiting other sites to purchase newly realised hardware such as the Core2Duo from aria.co.uk
Also if ebuyer have an item out of stock, don't purchase it you could be left waiting for weeks before the item will be sent to you. I have had this issue three times with them, purchasing items while it is not in stock and the stock indicator shows "expecting delivery" "awaiting delivery". The worst case was waiting for a hardrive after 6weeks of the item not being in stocked and "expected delivery this week" I cancelled the order.
The item description tends to be fairly adequate and the main information is shown. Images of the item is also shown. Each item has an area where reviews or questions can be posted. This is a great way to confirm the product specs and to get more opions of the item.
My experience of the customer service team has on the whole been very good. Most times when I have need to contact them they are polite professional and helpful. On one occasion I did get an advisor that was rude and sounded as if she would rather stick pins in her eyes than talk to me. The customer service phone line tends to be answered fairly quickly and I have not been placed on hold for any more than a few minutes.
The website is easy to use, although since they have updated their site navigation it is not as good as what it used to be. However items can be found using the search facility and quicklinx are handy if you know what you are looking for.
The shopping facility offers a good range of features. Items can be added to a catalog where you can monitor their price. Previose orders can be viewed and a full account ledger is also available. The delivery of any purchase can be followed through the site as well.
The delivery of items has been great, I live up in Scotland and had items delivered to Dundee, Inverness and Aberdeen, I have never had an item arrive after it's due date. Delivered items are always well packaged. As normal their is different levels of delievry from next day (which you will pay a premium ) through to super saver. I normall go for the saver delivery which in my experiance is best value for monet as the items normally arrive within three days of placing the order.
All registered user receive an email on a weekly basis detailing any offers.
