I first encounter Ecotan self tan spray when a work colleague bought it to me for my birthday!! I knowI know I have nice work colleagues!!! Anyway, I wasn't too keen on it at first as I have quite a few prejudices against QVC for some reasons but I still decided to give it a go and believe me I never regretted it!!!

Before applying the product (the same as before applying any self tan lotion!) you have ... ...and thoroughly. Make sure that you do not miss any bits because that's where the streaks will come from. It works best if you use a product with big grains. My colleague also bought me the exfoliator that came with Ecotan but it didn't do the job very well as the grain were too fine and didn't get rid of all the dry skin.
After exfoliating, dry yourself and wait a bit for your pores to close before applying the product.

Before applying the product (the same as before applying any self tan lotion!) you have to make sure that you exfoliate your body very well and thoroughly. Once you are ready, spray it all over and rub it in thouroughly not forgetting any bits and pay extra attention to the "tricky areas" like the back of your ankles, elbows where the self tan can accumulate and create some nasty orange patches!!! The spray is very good as you can use it upside down and it still work (i.e for the back of your legs ) The liquid is incolore therefore it can be a bit difficult to see if you miss any bits but the fact that it leaves a shiny film on your body will make the application a bit easier. Once you finish rubbing it all over, just let it dry and the tan should develop in 4 to 6 hours. The good thing is that it dries quite quickly so you do not have to act like a mommy, trying not to touch anything in case you stain it. I usually applying it in the evening and go to bed and it doesn't stain my sheets. However do not forget to wash your hands after use!!! Although the spray is for both body and face I use another product on my face because you have to avoid putting any product on your hairline and eyebrows and I find this a very difficult thing to do with a spray.
- Result -
After a few hours, the tan will start to develop into a golden natural colour. If you desire a deeper colour, then repeat the application the next day but if you are fair like me, one application a week will be enough to look healthy but not "tangoed". You can also use it after your holidays to maintain your tan. That's what I did last year and my tan ended up lasting 3 months by applying it once to twice a week. It does fade like a natural tan would (not leaving some awful patches!!). I started using my 200ml bottle last year and I still have got about half of the bottle left although I used it very often and also tried it on on some of my friends who ended up buying it.
- Tips for applying -
After spraying it, I usually dab a kitchen paper towel in the tricky areas like the back of my ankles and my elbow in order to absorb any excess of product that might be there.
Once I finish applying the product, I wait about 5 minutes for the product to start to dry and I then apply my body lotion in order to smooth out the tan and unifying the application of the product ( it usually makes sure that I haven't miss any bits!!)
If despite all my good efforts I do end up with some streaks (not often,, believe me!) I put some Clinique Clarifying lotion on a cotton wool and dab the area and it does take the tan off. Be careful though not to remove too much, don't rub but dab!
- Price -
A bottle of 200ml cost £12 + p & P on the QVC website however I know that you can now buy it directly in Department Stores.
All in all a great product that last forever and does the job. A bottle goes a long way making it good value for money.
Advantages: gives a even golden tan Disadvantages: none
...in the shower and exfoliate. Eco tan do a exfoliator which is quite good. But you can use them puffy things that are like sponges. Make sure you get all of your body. Once you get out of the shower wait until the pores are closed otherwise you might get a bit of a streaky look.
Applying the spray.
Hold the bottle arms length away and spray onto one body part at a time (this may help you from forgetting bits) if you wear a plastic glove (like the ... ...tanned palms. Even though it is colourless you can see it on your skin because it looks shiney.
After applying
It takes about 5 minutes for it to dry. Once its dried use your body lotion (Eco tan do a body lotion for after tanning) This will smooth the tan out and it will help make sure there ends up with no patches or streaks. The tan starts to come out a few minutes after but then it is fully developed 4-6 hours afterwards.

Advantages: great results, natural looking, easy to apply, even tones. Disadvantages: none
I have been using ecotan for 2 years now and have to say it is the best product I have ever used!
I am fair-ish skinned with light brown hair and blue eyes, and although I do tan in the sun I prefer not to and, hey, with our climate it's just not possible anyway!
I tend to use the product the night before and make sure I'm hair free first - but here's a tip: never shave/wax on the same day you plan to tan or you may end up with a "pin-cushion" ... ...This is true for any fake tan.
Step 1: shower
Step 2: exfoliate
Step 3: dry off with a towel and allow your skin to dry properly - give it 5 - 10 mins after you've showered and dried.
Step 4: apply moisturiser only to extra dry skin eg the "kneeling pads" on the front of your feet near your ankles, your elbows and the soles of your feet.
Step 5: hold the bottle a short distance away from the area you wish to tan (about the length of your forearm) ...

Advantages: Pump spray rather than messy cream, natural looking tan which lasts for days Disadvantages: Not the cheapest of products, but you get what you pay for!
We all know about the dangers of sunbathing, the increased risk of skin cancers without the right sort of high factor sun protection creams. But why use the sun when you can apply a self-tanning cream, gel or spray which doesn’t harm the skin, nor give you a nasty case of sunburn? And you can have a very natural looking tan within hours if you choose the right product. And if you prepare your skin fully before you begin.
EcoTan is such a product, ... ...a fine spray rather than a cream which makes application that much easier and no stained hands! A clear liquid housed in a rather unexciting clear plastic bottle but the results are very pleasing.
As with any self-tan product, it is always advisable to completely exfoliate your skin first to remove any dry skin cells, which absorb the colour considerably more giving you those nasty dark orange patches. Always pay particular attention to elbows and ...

Advantages: Easy to apply, no streaks, no nasty smell Disadvantages: None so far!
I know it doesn't seem like it, but summer isn't far away and we'll all soon be getting out the shorts and vest tops and baring our white bodies to the world!
I've discovered a brilliant product called Ecotan which will enable you to go out on a sunny day and not worry about looking like a pale Brit!!
The self tan comes in a 200ml spray which is really easy to use and lasts for a long time and costs around £13 - £17 depending on where you buy it. ... ...seen it in department stores too. Because it comes in a spray and not a cream or lotion it means you can spray your back and you get a light and even coverage. I find the colour takes a few hours to come out, but the best thing is that it is a really natural colour - not one of these orangey "I've been tangoed" looks and you can keep topping it up until you achieve the colour you desire.
The product is odourless so you don't have to vent your whole ...

...a tan.
I bought ECO Tan from QVC a while back now, and when I first used it I followed the instructions to the letter. But my first attempt made me burn and go very very red. I was told to make a test somewhere on my body that wouldn't be seen, Well I'm always in Jeans or Trousers so I did my legs and that was fine but as soon as I put it on my face thats when it happened, You would have thought I had been put in the oven on high heat for about ... ...much better. Eco tan is a spray on tanning product, it came with 2 other products that I found very useful. 1 Exfoliating wash (removes all the dead skin, and you can feel the difference straigh away)
2 Moisturizing cream (Leaves you silky soft)
When applying the tanning spray you leave for 5 mins then rub it in, don't spray directly onto your Knees or elbows as this tends to clog up and make you look well rather silly. When rubbing in the spray ...

Advantages: Acceptable smell, brown colour, dries fast, CHEAP!! Disadvantages: The smell may annoy some people, but I'm willing to put up with it.
I have been reading posts on message boards all over the internet about No-Ad.
Usually, people rave about No-Ad lotion.
They say it turns them brown and as a fabulous bonus, it's cheap!
I'm in Ireland and unfortunately all of the sunless tanners disappear during the winter and I have to make do with department store brands...which are NOT worth the money...but a few weeks ago I spottes No-Ad on a shelf in a pharmacy and I snatched it before anyone else dared touch it.
I came home that day, exfoliated and applied my No-Ad.
Usually, I have an intense phobia of ST sprays, they streak, dry too fast and mess up everything...not No-Ad!
It is the best self tanner I have ever used and that is saying something, I've tried St. Tropez, CLinique, Eco-Tan, Boots, Lancome, Christian Dior, Lancaster, Estee Lauder,Hawaiian Tropic, Aveda ...
