Advantages: Ridgeway Village, North East Derbyshire Disadvantages: Poor Bus Service
Ridgeway Village is a very beautiful, picturesque little Village that lies in North East Derbyshire in the Moss Valley. This is a place that I visit often and I am fortunate to live near enough to walk there. Something that I do fairly frequently when the weather is fine and I fancy some fresh air.
At first glance you could be fooled into thinking that there is not a great deal here to see and do. The majority of the dwellings in Ridgeway lie at the side of its only Road, the B6388, known here as High Street. Instead of simply driving through however I would strongly suggest that you park up and explore the Village because this is an area steeped in History.
In short there is a Post Office and General Stores, three Pubs, a Craft Centre, a School, two Churches, and a Garden Centre and Nursery.

Ridgeway Craft centre is situated in the small picturesque Village of Ridgeway in North East Derbyshire.
It can be easily approached from the M1 Motorway and is located six miles North West of the M1 Motorway Junction 30. From here follow the A6135 through Eckington to the B6054. Ridgeway Village and the Craft Centre are both sign-posted on the left hand side. Alternatively it can be approached from Sheffield City Centre just six miles away in the other direction by following the A6135, known locally as City Road from the Centre to the Manor Top. From here turn right down the A6102, and then left onto White Lane, the B6388. From here follow signs towards Mosborough, looking out for the right hand turn onto the B6054 to Ridgeway.

If you are looking for a cheap, basic bed and breakfast in the Worcestershire area, then you can?t beat Oakleigh Guest House. A family run long standing business where customer service is excellent and the standard of the rooms and breakfast is very good. Transport links are good and rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. I recommend this place highly.
