EcosseTel is not yet providing the 24/7 free internet that it promised months ago. On the surface EcosseTel looks a very inviting deal. you sign up give your credit card details and wait and wait and wait and wait. Fair enough, they do not debit your credit card until they have activated the 24/7 access. Once you have signed up you are given an 0845 number to access the internet which you pay the current rates. You can also dial a prefix before your telephone calls to obtain cheaper phone calls this is currently active. I have accessed the internet useing the 0845 number and found it to be quite fast. I am sceptical however regards the 24/7 0800 internet becoming a reality as EcosseTel do not answer emails. If you are tempted to sign up with them, beware.
Advantages: good offer if it comes to fruition, reasonable 0845 service Disadvantages: bad record with free offer, long overdue
EcosseTel is not yet providing the 24/7 free internet that it promised months ago and that that tempted me in to signing up with them. I have connected to the internet using Ecossetel's ...

Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: Calls charged to BT, useless help line, virus
I was attracted to Ecossetel by its low price. When I signed up I was promised I would be on in 2 days - took a week of constant chasing. Then when I tired to connect I got the "you are not recognised as a customer" message. I rang the support line and got a recorded message saying I should leave a message - but the answerphone was full! Rang the next day and was given a different number to try. It was several days before I realised some or all calls ... ...and was told this occasionally happened and to send them the bill. Realised it was happening to ALL my calls and asked for help. Was told my settings must be wrong. Got friend with portable computer to try - call charged to BT. EcosseTel were no help - still inistsing settings must be wrong and if I told them what hardware I used they'd send new settings. Sent e-mail which contains the virus that e-mails bits of your personal mail to up to 100 people ...

good value for money unmetered 24hours a day, £15 of free phone calls for BT customers in non-NTL area
technical support at £1/min, response to e-mails is slow, communication between departments & customer service is poor, almost impossible to leave/en (*)
