I was so pleased to find out that I'm not going mad, I haven't finally flipped my lid totally, although I've always been just a little near the edge, I must admit.
It isn't the dog who makes that strange smell in my kitchen, I'm right, it is that Ecover washing up liquid. An opinion by another Doyooser verified this fact.
I stopped smoking nine months ago and I have a very acute and sometimes wildly inaccurate sense of smell so I'd put that strange smell down to something unmentionable that my dog had done. It was a mixture of stale spices, cooking oil and that smell you can smell on the overall of someone who works in a fish and chip shop. Yes, it my Ecover washing up liquid. Kind to the environment, phosphate free, biodegradeable. Good to everything except for my nose!
I am a bit disappointed as this product is no more expensive than any other washing up liquid which makes a change. If you go for environmental friendlies you usually pay more for them. I was quite happy to make the change to do a tiny bit extra to help our planet but I just can't put up with the smell.
I ended up throwing the bottle in the bin unused. What a waste! My kitchen is now free of the smell of old fat and 'chip shops' and my dog isn't being accused of being a walking source of air pollution (not quite so often anyway.)
wow - for someone who's trying to help the environment by buying eco-friendly products, it's a strange thing to throw away an unfinished bottle! I'd have had it!!! I don't mind the smell personally.
