I'm surprised by the 2 comments so far, claiming that Ecover's washing-up liquid smells odd! I haven't noticed any particular smell, which is unusual, given that washing-up liquids usually have overpowering odours of lemon-freshness! However, I do happen to like Indian cooking smells very much, and my kitchen will often give off said vapours, so perhaps it's just a matter of what you're used to.
The first thing I liked about this washing-up liquid was the little transparent strip down the side, which lets you know how much liquid you have left. Obviously, some liquids have completely transparent/translucent bottles which does the same job, but I found it quite pleasing to have an opaque bottle on the one hand, but the ability to see what remains, on the other!!
The next thing I noticed was that the small squirt of liquid I used did not create the abundance of froth that I'm used to from a washing-up product. Rather than adding more (3 times the usual amount will give a mass of froth), I stayed with it to see if it would do the job of cleaning. It definitely worked. A small amount goes a long way. A full load of sauce-lined pans and tea-stained mugs and such-like were well-cleaned with a minimum of elbow grease.
By the time I'd finished, I also noticed that it didn't make my hands sting like the majority of other products do. All other washing-up liquids dry out my hands but this one never has.
The main reason for using Ecover is, of course, it's environmentally-friendly. Rather than creating an eco-friendly product alongside a range of lesser products (like other companies do), Ecover has an all-encompassing policy that extends to the way the whole company operates. So the factories and warehouses all recycle and use energy-efficient resources and so on.
I really like this product and would strongly recommend it particularly to the environtment-conscious and those who suffer allergies.

Duh!I'm glad that you like the see through strip too.Although the smell may be a little unusual that's cos it's not fake and chemical as you rightly say.I used to like the smell of opium perfume at one time but now prefer lavender bags.

How rude, who needs froth? its the most important thing in washing up liquid. Just imagine life without froth, it puts the 'fun' in the washing up :). I mean its no fun washing up if you cant cover your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/husband or whoeva in foamy bubbles and have a laugh! lol, man it just shows how sad i really am. Gr8 op, Dave
