When shopping in Sainsburys earlier this week I thought I'd try a washing-up liquid I hadn't tried before. Plus now I'm trying to be more environmentally friendly! So I bought Ecover ecological wahing-up liquid with lemon and aloe vera. I paid £0.89p for a 500ml. It's not as pricey as what I thought with it being an ecological washing-up liquid.
PACKAGING <><><><><> The washing-up liquid comes in a plastic bottle with a light green flip lid. It's clear plastic so you can see the contents. On the front of the bottle is the Ecover name with a green leaf. On the back there is array of information for you to read. What I really like about this bottle is its simplistic look. There's no fancy pictures or things on it to lure you into looking at it! It's pure, simple and nice to look at.
The writing is a tad small, so make sure you're under good lighting when (trying!) to read it. I'll just tell you what Ecover states on the back of the bottle about their bottle:-
Ecover bottles are designed to be refilled where facilities exist. This product is made at Ecover's Ecological factory. A clean running and ecologically sound plant built from recycled and recyclable materials.

THE WASHING-UP LIQUID <><><><><><><><><><>< The washing-up liquid itself is clear in colour. When I first saw it I thought it was a bit runny compared to others, but it doesn't mean it'll work any less than the others.
The aroma is really quite pleasant. It's not too strong, but has a mild, subtle smell of the lemon. Lemon can be quite a strong smell, but it's not here. It's a really nice and refreshing smell.
Ecover is against animal testing and has a little impact on aquatic life. It is kind to your hands (thanks, they say, to the plant based ingredients). It is also suitable for septic tanks.
Now, on the important part, the washing-up itself! The instructions state that just one squirt is enough for a sink full of normally dirty dishes. And I did find that one squirt really is enough. I found that it worked well on my dishes, and made the water smell nice and lemony. It got my dishes clean and left my hands feeling soft and smelling nice!
Ecover uses natual plant and mineral ingredients to bring you the effective cleaning they promise you. It is not based on petrochemical ingredients.
MY THOUGHTS <><><><><><> In summary, I like this washing-up liquid. It smells nice, the packaging is simple and pleasant to the eye, it's kind to your hands and it does the washing-up well! For £0.89p, you can't grumble, can you?!
