Graham NOTton

Advantages: Used to be very funny so re runs are hillarious.
Disadvantages: Gone a bit too conservative for me.

Introduction I have only in the last few years started to like Graham Norton, I think he was always a bit too old for me in his humour when I was a kid, so it wasn't until I had left school and was in college really that I actually started watching his show which was then on channel 4. I found it absolutely hillarious. Since then Graham Norton has moved from Channel 4 to BBC1, and is no longer on 5 nights a week as it used to be, but it was absolutely hillarious when it was on channel 4. More recently I have started watching the show again, and I must admit it isn't as funny as it used to be, but I think that is more to do with my estimation of Graham Norton himself has gone down, since he took over the Eurovision Song Contest, and also doing shows a such as How to Solve a problem like Maria and the likes, he just isn ...

Review of BBC1: The Graham Norton Show

Nearly brilliant

Advantages: Great story, great characters
Disadvantages: Poor ending!

Generally I stick to authors who I know or have had recommendations for, so it was a departure from the norm when, a couple of years ago, I decided to browse the horror section of Waterstones for a way to relieve myself of some book vouchers that were burning a hole in my pocket. The title that grabbed my attention and thus claimed my vouchers was Night Plague by Graham Masterton, an author whose name I recognised, though I couldn't recall reading or hearing about anything of his before. THE PLOT We follow the story of Stanley Eisner, an American living in London, who contracts the Night Plague at the beginning of the book (I won't reveal how, but it's fairly brutal!). The Night Plague is a disease of the soul, sent by the devil to pollute humainty so that he can claim every single soul as his own - nice! So do we have any hope ...

Review of Night Plague - Graham Masterton

Where wolves are made of wood

Advantages: easy to read - hard to put down
Disadvantages: not as horror orientated as some of Masterton's work

Did you ever look at a pattern on the wallpaper as a child and see what appeared to be a face or a monster lurking there? Were there ever animals hidden in the carpet or a picture that looked so lifelike that you could have stepped right in? I've been a fan of Graham Masterton for a long time now and he ranges from writing horror to thriller novels. This book is neither, but instead is a grown up fairytale. The main character is a teenage girl called Jessica who is ridiculed at school for her love of make believe - in particular fairies. Living with her loving grandparents after her own parents are killed in a car accident she is lonely and longs to have friends she can rely on. I had a great deal of sympathy for this character at the start of the book and felt really sorry for her as she is bullied relentlessly until she ...
