Advantages: Used to be very funny so re runs are hillarious. Disadvantages: Gone a bit too conservative for me.
Introduction
I have only in the last few years started to like Graham Norton, I think he was always a bit too old for me in his humour when I was a kid, so it wasn't until I had left school and was in college really that I actually started watching his show which was then on channel 4.
I found it absolutely hillarious. Since then Graham Norton has moved from Channel 4 to BBC1, and is no longer on 5 nights a week as it used to be, but it was absolutely hillarious when it was on channel 4.
More recently I have started watching the show again, and I must admit it isn't as funny as it used to be, but I think that is more to do with my estimation of Graham Norton himself has gone down, since he took over the Eurovision Song Contest, and also doing shows a such as How to Solve a problem like Maria and the likes, he just isn ...
Advantages: Great story, great characters Disadvantages: Poor ending!
Generally I stick to authors who I know or have had recommendations for, so it was a departure from the norm when, a couple of years ago, I decided to browse the horror section of Waterstones for a way to relieve myself of some book vouchers that were burning a hole in my pocket. The Night Plague is a disease of the soul, sent by the devil to pollute humainty so that he can claim every single soul as his own - nice!
So do we have any hope ...
Advantages: easy to read - hard to put down Disadvantages: not as horror orientated as some of Masterton's work
Did you ever look at a pattern on the wallpaper as a child and see what appeared to be a face or a monster lurking there?
Were there ever animals hidden in the carpet or a picture that looked so lifelike that you could have stepped right in?
I've been a fan of GrahamMasterton for a long time now and he ranges from writing horror to thriller novels. This book is neither, but instead is a grown up fairytale.
The main character is a teenage girl called Jessica who is ridiculed at school for her love of make believe - in particular fairies. Living with her loving grandparents after her own parents are killed in a car accident she is lonely and longs to have friends she can rely on.
I had a great deal of sympathy for this character at the start of the book and felt really sorry for her as she is bullied relentlessly until she ...
