Find the letter.................
Review of Leap Frog Word Whammer Fridge Phonics by
piggypine
Advantages: Educational, great quality, reasonable price.........
Disadvantages: None.
I chose the Word Whammer for Christopher after he started nursery last September, he's the youngest in his year and in our area the older children start nursery in the April and gradually stagger the intake until the last child starts in September, he's a smart kid but I couldn't help worry that he might be a bit behind the older kids who had so many more months of nursery behind them and thought the Whammer would be the perfect toy to encourage ... ...a magnetic play set consisting of the main unit and 32 letter pieces, designed to teach children the look, sound and name of letters as well as encouraging spelling and rhyming. The Word Whammer has 3 play modes chosen by moving the yellow slide to the matching mode symbol, the 3 play modes are "Letter Hunt" where you learn letter names and sounds through fun songs, "Word Builder" where you explore combinations of different letters with the aim of ...

Impressed!! Worth buying Fridge Phonics Letter Set
Review of Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set by
kes1972
Advantages: Totally English Speaking (no Zeee's)
Disadvantages: No disadvantages
This is a wonderful little toy from "Leapfrog" which helps to teach the alphabet in full english. I tend to get fed up with hearing the "zeee's" in talking toys, so it is a pleasure to hear the standard "Zed". This toy is wildly available from most toy shops. It is colourful and sings the alphabet when pressed. It has interchanging letters so that you can hear the sound of each letter seperately. It has an "off" switch and two sound levels. It takes ... ...and they are easy to replace using a Phillips Screwdriver. The unit its self is approx 3" x 3.5" and the letters are about 1" x 1.5" and the letters fit perfectly in the unit without any trouble. The reason I love this toy is beacuse it is magnetic and sticks to the front of our fridge.... It is perfect for me to keep an eye on my son and keep him occupied whilst I am in the kitchen cooking. My son totally loves this toy and can now sing along to ...

My curves
Review of Lego 9v Train Tracks: Curved Rails for 9v Trains by
mumsymary
Advantages: make a good circuit
Disadvantages: none
...have started to build a Lego electric 5v train set buying him a train and some rail enough to make a small circuit.
Amongst the items we bought was a pack of curved rails. This pack includes 8 pieces of track and costs £11.99 from http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=4520. These curves are 5 inches long and will make half a circle when joined together. . Each piece has 5 sleepers between the rails and are 5 inches long. The tracks will conduct electricity ... ...are compatible for the newer Lego RC trains.
These train tracks are fairly easy to put together the rails just slide together and clip in place. To undo the tracks will just slide away from each other when pulled lightly.
They are fairly robust would not enjoy rough treatment but should survive many standard play hours.
The trains run smoothly on these tracks when they are fitted together with other pieces of tracks.
Curves are really a good ...

L Max Leapster from Leapfrog
Review of Leap Frog Leapster L-Max by
jaffasmith
Advantages: Learning tool that keep children occupied
Disadvantages: Takes 4 batteries
We brought the IMax for our eldest daughter when she was 4 ,She is now nearly 7. The L Max is a handhand games console designed for the younger child as a educational toy and is aimed at children 4 to 10yrs. The console and cartridges can be brought from most large stores / toy shops. You buy games cartridges but it does have some preprogrammed games already so you do not have to but extra cartridges. Helps children with spelling. numeracy tasks ... ...cant get it away from her little sister. Our youngest has been playing it since she was 2 1/2 shes now 3 & abit. She loves the painting programme. She can access it and get to the paint option by herself. Takes 4 AA batteries but they last a while. We did buy the adapter but youngest keeps tripping over the wire so we have had to go back to batteries. This goes every where with us shopping, holidays, car etc. You can always find deals on the cartridges ...
