I found the Leap Frog Leap Pad Plus Writing a very well thought trough learning toy. It has the right mixture of education and fun offering books with characters that are increasingly popular with children. But besides that Leap Frog are also aiming at science and history knowledge questions and are able to combine all this with reading and writing exercises. I purchsed this as a Christmas present for my little boy. I had seen some good reviews written on it and thought that it looked like a toy that would keep him busy! I purchased it online, but it is also available from high street stores. I paid £29.99, but have seen it cheaper since, so look around for deals. It needs 4 C batteries. It did come with batteries for demonstration purposes and they have only just needed replacing. They lasted 4 months. ...

...are all set to go, just switch the Leappad on and then with the magnetic pen that is attached via a 30cm wire you need to tap GO on whatever page you are using, then you are set to play that page. The Leappad runs on 4 AA batteries and to be fair they last for ages before needing to be replaced. ...question was the "Leapfrog Quantum Leap Globe". Those of you who have children will know that Leapfrog make educational toys, and this one is very educational indeed. I won't go into their "history" as I don't think it is relevant. It usually retails at £99.99, but you may find it on special offer in many stores for £89.99 or if you are lucky, as I was, for £75. ...but personally, my advice is not to buy it from there. My experience with e-bay is that, for "very wanted" items, you are likely to pay more than normal store prices.
