The working mans GT8
Review of Korg AX3000G by andrewpledger91

Advantages: Good sounds and plenty of them
Disadvantages: Quite large, lack of battery power

I have owned this product for about half a year now and so far nothing has gone wrong with it. It is a fairly large size (comparable to the gt8) so portability is a bit of an issue especially seeing as it runs on mains power. I find this unit extremely easy to use as there are many preset patches that can provide you with good sounds straight out of the box. One very handy thing is that when are creating new patches you don't have to overwrite any ...
...unit. It is a very sturdy, well built unit with a metal outer shell; however the parameter editing knobs are very flimsy and would snap off if they were accidentally kicked. The ESS function (see website) is mostly a novelty function that I have had very little use of as it is only really good for ambient type music. The acoustic simulator is very good quality but needs tweaking depending on pickups, wood, etc. The sounds and effects are all good ... Read review

Great Overdrive!!!
Review of Digitech Bad Monkey Overdrive by Dollery1980

Advantages: Strong build, good tube overdrive
Disadvantages: overdrive limited

I purchased The Bad Monkey from a shop in Denmark Street London and it cost me around £40. The first thing i noticed about this pedal was its solid construction, its metal and strong! you could drop this from a skyscraper and i bet it would still be in one piece lol well maybe not but you get what i'm saying :) The pedal has four nobs..level (volume) ,low(bass), high (treble) and gain (overdrive) and thats pretty much it but that all you really need ...
...nice WARM tube overdrive tone that resembles some of the tubescreamers out there but i believe the clarity of this pedal is better! By that i mean that when the gain is up to the max you can still hear every individual string ring out which is really nice and clear but with great overdrive! The only downside to this pedal is that its overdrive is limited, it would of been nice to have the option of further overdrive. This pedal is great for blues, ... Read review

Ibanez Tubescreamer TS9 tone!
Review of Ibanez Tube Screamer TS 9 by Dollery1980

Advantages: Great Tone!! Great sounding Solo's and Lead work!
Disadvantages: None!

The Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9 is little box of pure tone! If your looking for an overdrive pedal that will instantly beef your sound and make you cut through the music when you take a solo then this is for you. All the great players from SRV, Clapton, ZZ Top all own tubesreamers and they are all known for the tone and sound of there guitars. I personally play in a rock/blues band and i have gigged the TS9 all over London, the build quality is good ... Read review

Show 'em Who's BOSS
Review of Boss Metal Zone MT-2 by brunocrosier

Advantages: Great look, durable, nice tones
Disadvantages: Price

The BOSS Metal Zone MT-2 has become one of the world's most commonly used effects pedals, and is the pedal of choice of most of the metal genre's finest guitarists. It has a three-band equaliser and semi-parametric midtone equaliser to provide an optimum range of tones to suit a variety of subgenres. It seems that BOSS are so confident in their product that they have offered a 5 year warranty with their product. Perhaps this is because it is built ...
...pedals myself i can safely say that the UM100 gives a much crisper yet distorted tone. So unless you are more interested in buying a brand name than a product, i would steer clear of all BOSS products and buy yourself 4 Behringer pedals for the price of one MT-2. ... Read review

Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Wah Pedal
Review of Dunlop Jim Cry Baby by BenMeredith123

Advantages: Great Effects, Easy To Use, Cheap, Extremley Long Lasting Battery Life
Disadvantages: I Really Can't Think Of Any

Hi Dudes!!! This is easily the best standard wah wah pedal out there and arguably better than some of the signature pedals. It is the number one most sold pedal in the world which must tell you something about it. Used by Joe satriani to get his amazing sounds you can go from those low tones for jazz and blues type stuff and some oldy rock or go for some high up ear blasting tones right up top for some new world metal stuff. The main and best pitch ... Read review
