Hi my experience with egg - I opened the account with them about a year and a half ago with a pound and I recently was transferring money in to the account. I found that the rate that they quoted me over the telephone 6.3% was incorrect and only applied to the internet based accounts ( I had mine in the days when they were still phone banking)
I had the rate confirmed to me by 4 of their staff on different times. After i transfer the money in they then tell me that the rate is 5.7%.
After a lot of fights on the phone and geuss what they mislaid the tapes of the conversation - how nice. They are back dating the interest and have transferred my money to cahoot. Whom are offering 7.1%
I have to say that egg have let me down. Faith and trust is important in a bank.

I have an egg card and an egg savings account.
They haven;t been too bad to me.
At first i wanted to up my credit limit on my card and emailed them, they never replied so I had to phone them.
I must admit the staff i have talked to were very pleasant and sorted me out straightaway.

good op i just got an egg card cos it's interest free for 6 months no probs with this as yet ps i scoff all night whilst on the net!
