I've used the egg card since it was launched and rate it highly, however I would like to share one experience with you...
I used the card to top-up my mobile phone. This was not a problem, however when I tried to use the card the next day the retailer said that there was a problem and the transaction was refused (I was about to run out of petrol in the middle of nowhere, fortunately I had my switch card). On returning home I contacted Egg who told me that as I had never used the card to buy the phone time before this was marked as an "unusual" transaction and so the card was stopped. They had tried to contact me, but the details had changed and I ahd forgot to tell them new work number.
Now I can see that stopping a card after an out of character transaction is a good thing, but as Egg is an online thing you can forget to keep up to date with your details.
I advise all of you to remember this to prevent problems. Also a copy of the phone number that you need to ring would be handy - perhaps printed on the back of the card?
Overall though a good card, unbeatable balance transfer deal and reasonable interest rate.
